Stupid Republican idea of the day

He’s right. Gohmert’s made up version of socialism is stupid.

The idea that hippie-teachers made a generation more amenable to Sanders’ message makes a kind of sense. If so, so much the better for hippies.

Fox’s Charles Gasparino:

He did approve the message.

That’s racist!

Or borough-ist. Somebody from the Bronx thinks Bernie’s voice is annoying, that’s funny.

Right? That’s how his campaign should have played it.

But why offer someone “honest” work when you can shame them instead. How people don’t see through this shit is just head scratching to me.

Which is actually the real reason they pulled the ad. It had nothing to do with porn, softcore or otherwise. It’s all about ST:Voyager and the Republican party’s obsessive need to distance themselves from any connection to Barak Obama.

What the hell am I talking about?

Consider this Reddit post: What is the greatest mind fuck in history? and /u/icorrectpettydetails’ answer:

Barack Obama became President of the US because People Magazine thought actor Garret Wang was attractive.

[QUOTE=Reddit user icorrectpettydetails]

At the end of Voyager series 3, the writers wanted to introduce a new character, but because the budget only allowed for a certain number of main actors, they had to let one of them go. Originally this was going to be Harry Kim, played by Garrett Wang, who had been very vocal in his hate for the show. (This is why there’s a weird cliffhanger with him about to die that gets almost immediately overturned in series 4).

People Magazine then ran a list of the Hottest 50 Men which included Wang. Seeing he was popular, they decided to get rid of the character Kes, played by Jennifer Lien, whose character they thought they’d messed up a bit and run out of ideas.

Since Kes leaving left them with only two major female characters, they decided to make their new character female as well, leading to them making Seven of Nine, played by Jeri Ryan.

For filming, she had to move to California, which put strain on her already damaged relationship with Jack Ryan and led to their divorce. In 2004, the messy details of their divorce came out, forcing Jack Ryan to stand down from running for the position of Senator of Illinois, allowing a relatively new Barack Obama to win. Four years later, Obama became President of the US.

Republicans (including Ted Cruz) are already planning on blocking any Obama appointee to the Supreme Court.

They just refused to even look at his proposed budget, so at least they’re being consistent . . .

Links to snopes about about Bernie Sanders instead of the actual story.

Shit. Sorry about that.

McConnell filibustered his own bill after Obama agreed with it; there’s no way they’ll allow Obama to appoint a justice.

Ironically, this could work out for the Dems. Political junkies know about Republican obstructionism, but the average person doesn’t. It should be pretty hard to miss the Pubbies refusing to vote on a Supreme Court appointment for over a year, though, and it might energize the usually lazy Democratic electorate.

McConnell has come out and said that the nomination should be left to the next President. I cannot fucking believe that. Obama has a year left in office, and the leader of the fucking United States Senate says such a thing. Fuck him, and the horse he rode in on.

He really want’s Bernie to make the nomination?

Even better - McConnell says we should wait for the next President to give the American people a chance to have a say in the next Supreme Court justice. Soooo … the American people didn’t have a say in electing Obama to the position that’s responsible for nominating Supreme Court justices? Twice, even?

It’s ridiculous. Just now on CNN they came out with BREAKING NEWS: We’ve learned that President Obama intends to nominate new Supreme Court justice!

Well, no shit. What do you expect him to say? “Nah, I don’t wanna. I’ve done enough Presidenting. I just want to coast for the next entire year.”

The Senate hasn’t done anything under McConnell’s leadership. Why start now?

Do they think they can hold out for nine years? Frankly, he should be clamoring to work with Obama on a moderate than risk a Democrat President and Senate.

Obama had Scalia murdered.

What took so long?

I’m amused at this comment.

So how did Obama sneak in a replacement so fast?
