Stupid Republican idea of the day

Frogs and locusts? Wouldn’t that end up being just a plague of fat frogs?

And ultimately, obese Frenchmen.

Well played!

“All right, class, tomorrow’s homework will be . . . errmm . . . will be . . . class dismissed.”

My suspicion is that the answer to that question is “no.” The governor takes the heat for the veto, which means that they can make their bigoted constituents happy saying “I voted for it!” and to their big money constituents they say, “I begged the governor to veto the bill when I saw it would harm your interests, sir!” They’re covered coming and going. If they override, they have to take the heat from the big money constituents.

“Whoever knows the answer to this question, raise your hands”.

That should get a response:eek:

Man, that Lord guy is a total dick, huh?

In the past, we’ve seen an occasional flash of intelligence from adaher. (Just occasional, but there are worse hanging out here.)

Now he’s now preparing to support His Party’s Choice in the upcoming election. So he’s been dumbing himself down…

Every person I’ve seen pushing that petition on the interwebs has been, shall we say, not a Republican. I’m not sure they’re all hoping for a self-inflicted slaughter (although I don’t doubt they would appreciate the irony of one); mostly they seem to be enjoying highlighting what they see as hypocrisy in a group promoting gun carrying everywhere else except their own gatherings. It’s just more political theatre.

Pro-gun people aren’t allowed to go around shooting anyone they want, therefore the gun control side is winning! Also: something something tiger blood.

Assuming they are telling the truth, we won. Their only goal is some reasonable restrictions like registration and background checks. Banning handguns, for example, a common 1970s gun control tool, seems to be off the table now.

The only thing that stops a bad gal with an abortion…

Its even worse than that, if I try to follow Adher’s logic it would seem to support the exact opposite of what he’s trying to argue.

Following the discussion:

**Adher: ** The gun rights side has won a long time ago the debate is over.
**Superdude: ** No they haven’t even though Abortion is never ever going to be banned, pro-lifers still wouldn’t say that pro-choice has won and the debate is over.
**Adher: ** But pro-lifers take an extreme position of a total ban while gun control advocates only claim to want increased regulation.
**Me: **Well then given that unlike a total abortion ban, increased regulation could actually occur, doesn’t that suggest that the gun rights issue is in fact less settled than the abortion rights issue, and so Superdude’s point is even more correct?

The New York police commissioner criticized Ted Cruz’s call for patrolling of Muslim neighborhoods. So Cruz’s response? “The commissioner has no choice but to implement the Di Blasio-Obama liberal agenda.”

Wait. We control the NYPD, the hacky sack fascists wield awesome power?

“Thank me, sir? No, sir, thank you, sir! Have a good day, and here are some brochures on making really yummy vegetarian meals for the whole family!”

So he speaks bad English? Because “make the rules tougher” means the exact opposite of what he thinks it means.

He knows his constituency.

In the early 90’s, I spoke Bad English.

The Mississippi State Senate has passed a bill which would:

1-Allow members of a church’s congregation to carry concealed weapons
2-Make any federal law which conflicts with the state constitution null and void.
