Stupid Republican idea of the day

Wasn’t one civil war enough? Same damn people doing the same damn thing, trying to make the states superior in power to the federal government. I’m pretty certain that’s unconstitutional.

I swear, it’s the anti-federalists all over again. Where are Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay when you need 'em?

Because freedom! Religious freedom, no less. Got to make sure those churches are free.

Supremacy clause aside, states are not obligated to help the federal government enforce any federal law. So while “null and void” is just stupid theater meant to impress the ignorant, the federal government counts on state help for some laws and if it doesn’t get that help, “null and void” is pretty close to the reality. Marijuana laws being a good example.

Next they’ll be arming fetuses. After all, its the only way for them to protect themselves

Win what? I didn’t realize this was a game where victory is declared once you unlock ACHIEVEMENT: GunCon.

But ok, let’s follow your logic. If something happens at a convention where they allow guns, do you now lose? What do you lose? What are you willing to give up on this gamble? Play the game with me.

If they allowed everyone to bring guns and something bad happened, yes, that would be a major setback for gun rights advocates.

Good to see that book doesn’t only speak about Holy Hand Grenades. …

I guess you can’t say this is a stupid idea, because it follows on from their idea that lame duck Presidents can’t nominate Supreme Court justices, but the “House Freedom Caucus” is floating an idea to shut down all of Congress after the election until the newly elected members take office.

Shut down Congress? How could we tell the difference?

The vote count on repealing Obamacare remains steady.

So… they want to allow Obama to make recess appointments, then?

Let’s all join the House Freedom Caucus!

Hey, yeah, I want some freedom!

Which would stand for eleven weeks?

But I just mailed you some last week . . . maybe there wasn’t enough postage.

Freedom isn’t Free.

Freedom isn’t free?
