Most translations render the edict with words like “fill the earth and subdue it” and “dominion over the animals”, which could be inferred to mean being caretakers, or it could be taken as we should have our way with it/them.

I’m going to put this here. The Democratic Attorney General of Kentucky is suing the Republican Governor because the Governor cut over $40 million from the higher education budget, even though the legislature (which I believe is Republican dominated) declined to pass a budget with those cuts. The AG says the Governor’s action is unconstitutional.
