Stupid Republican idea of the day

“Mister President, before I can accept this check, I’ll have to see America’s driver’s license or two other pieces of identification.”

I could totally see him literally selling the US to some foreign multinational if the money was right … for him. It would be a YUUUUGE deal. it would make America great again … well, a great colony again …

And then you’ll see the sovereign citizens coming out of the woodwork.

Mr. Trump, the “creditors” here are the holders of U.S. Treasury bonds – many of whom are rich Americans like yourself, and you must know a great many of them. How many of them do you think would settle for 50 cents on the dollar?

One of Trump’s “Israel advisers” says that Jews who support peace in the Middle East are worse than concentration camp kapos.

Most anyone who has had the misfortune to do business with him.

zing!

Make a good ad. Collect a bunch of people who made deals with Don Trump, and made out OK. Must be bunches of them, by now. Odd they haven’t thought of that.

Making an ad out of people he bested and destroyed may work for him. Reminds me of when Don Henley praised his manager at the RRHOF Awards. “He’s Satan, but he’s *our *Satan!”

Creditors to accept “less” in repayment of national debt…

Isn’t that what inflation is for? “Yeah, fine, here’s the whole nine trillion. That’s two gold bars and eight tons of oats.”

That’s the upside to hyperinflation.

But, Trump ain’t even our Satan. He would sell this country for a penny if he could.

That’s an interesting question, actually. I’m virulently opposed to the idea of a Trump presidency for any number of reasons. But I think he would honestly want the US to succeed… if only for his own ego. He would want to leave office after 8 years to the accolades of all, with his face already being carved onto Mt. Rushmore, and his enemies either defeated or admitting they were wrong about him all along and he IS the greatest human being ever to live.

The problem with a Trump presidency would not be him just bald faced looting the treasury, or just hopping on a plane to a private island and saying “haha fooled you suckers”. It would be his ignorance, thin skin, short attention span, simplistic view of the world, inability to compromise, etc.

A new portmanteau will have to be coined to describe the man. Something like “bombastard”.

I think you have that somewhat backwards. You say Trump would want his presidency to be a success, but by what measure? There are all sorts of standards that people use to judge such things; the economy, unemployment, Dow Jones, signature legislation, the deficit, standard of living, safety, security, trade, treaties, what have you. I just don’t see Trump putting those things at the top of the list. But whatever metrics you use, what’s good for the country should be good for the president. I just get the sense that Trump’s ego is such that (if he becomes president) he thinks whatever is good for him is good for the country. If people buy his books, read news articles about him, and eventually contribute to his library, his presidency is a success, therefore the country is better off.

Braggadouchy-o.

Let’s just not forget that it would NOT be worth a Trump presidency just to keep luci supplied with material, okay?

That was pretty good, though.

Which would be all us taxpayers this time. Trump might have to cancel all our withholding tax refunds for several years to pay off creditors.

But none dare call that a tax increase.

I’m kinda picturing a tax increase happening under a Trump presidency, and his response to complainers being to tell them to toughen up, or something along those lines. The response from supporters is a tad bewildered - they’ve steadfastly maintained Trump tells it like it is, but they don’t like taxes… mental short-circuit.

Oh, come one. You know Trump supporters are trickle-downers to a man. And Trump will surely rain golden showers upon them!
