There aren’t, and it is. We’ve all born witness to it.
But I never revisit any thread I post to, so I never see that Tappity-Talk has added a sentence to every single one of my posts. ::vintage roll-eyes::
Sent via Netscape from my Mac Cube with half a gig of ram, that round puck-mouse, a steampunky CRT… and OS 7.5.1.
People always love strong leaders who “get things done”.
Until those things are not what THEY want done.
Then that leader is a monstrous fascist communist dictator or something.
Sent via mental telepathy and ‘spooky action from a distance’ to a disused telegraph clicker in a warehouse in Albany, then transcribed on paper by the semi-retired janitor and sent via US Mail to a random person whose family is kidnapped until they post it here.
Chimera: I don’t know which I admire more, your post or your delectable post-script! I love you and want to graft additional body parts onto you! Do you have room for a bear’s head? I think a chimera with a bear’s head would be mega coo!
And…yeah…legislation from strength. Right now, California is doing, with gun control, pretty much what Utah is doing, with abortion. I’m on opposite sides here: no, the states must not infringe on the constitution…and yes, yay, go California! Very awkward. The H word. (Hydrophobia?) Anyway…
If you’re afraid of water, California might be about the best state for you. So, win-win.
As well as an entire disregard of the American system of checks and balances whenever a branch checks shit they like. ‘Legislating from the Bench!’, ‘executive overreach!’
Fear of hoplites? Well, I suppose it’s perfectly rational to want to avoid the side of a phalanx with all the pointy bits.
That seems more like a word to describe the subjects of this thread.
I’m making up a list of people I want to bite.
How the hell did you get 7.5.1 to run on a cube?
Wouldn’t the other list be a lot shorter?
Oops, got it wrong. The Cubic Mac is running 10.4 now… but I did keep it OG for a long time (not a hipster thing, a cheapster thing). Just looked it up, and it was 9.0.4, while its deskmate was running 7.5.1.
I miss those days, chugging along on an eighth of a gig of ram…
That’s not chugging, that’s oozing.
In other years this would have been a major scandal. With the craziness that is Trump, it’s simply business as usual.
Trump names Elliot Broidy as a co-chair of his campaign committee. Broidy escaped prison by ratting out the New York State officials he had bribed.
I’m more surprised a campaign adviser thinks Whitewater will still resonate at all with anyone outside the choir.
It simply will not do to give those people too much access, amirite?
This is the break the Dole campaign has been waiting for.
Not sure if this has been mentioned, since it was first published six months ago. I only recently got wind of it. AZ senator Flake put out a lengthy report on government waste that is designed to numb the reader’s brain with its exhaustiveness.
(Do not click that link. It leads to a large pdf that is quite annoying to look at. There are about 200 pages of blather and 80 pages of biblio.)
I mean, it seems as though the irony is lost on the guy. How much did it cost his team to put this inane thing together? At least old Bill Proxmire did his golden fleece thing with a certain flair. Flake just comes off looking like, uh, nope, not going to say it.
