Stupid Republican idea of the day

TL:DR What? No, no, just saying there was a tradition of President’s acknowledging Jesus up until 2008, when it stopped. That’s all.

The Rev. Axl Rose.

I love this quote:

“I feel like Martin Luther, innocently nailing the 95 theses on the wall, and I’m not even Catholic.”

Cause you know Luther wasn’t trying to stir shit up or anything. He got such a bum rap over innocently yelling to whoever would hear that the entire catholic church was a corrupt heap of filth. It’s not like he meant anything by it. Way to overreact, Pope dude.

Yeah, he didn’t identify Obama by name. Probably he was referencing what everybody knows, that George W. Bush renounced Christianity on January 1, 2009, right?

Relax everybody, turns out the guys a drummer! So, you know, never mind…

Pah-rum-puh-pum-pum

They just make it SO. DAMNED. EASY. sometimes.

More disgusting hijinks from Minnesota: Family Council asks for ‘respectful debate,’ says gays are pedophiles who engage in bestiality.

The article goes on to quote the Family Council’s “legislative manual,” which has some real doozies. Such as the following:

Unbelievable.

I think you mean arise from mold.

That would be evolution. Can’t have that.

"During the House discussion there was predictably some disagreement over whether excluding rape pregnancies from coverage was perhaps the sort of callous treatment a recently violated woman shouldn’t have to deal with. Here’s DeGraaf’s response to Rep. Barbara Bollier’s challenge, as reported by the McPherson Sentinel:

Rep. Pete DeGraaf, a Mulvane Republican who supports the bill, told her: "We do need to plan ahead, don't we, in life?"

Bollier asked him, "And so women need to plan ahead for issues that they have no control over with pregnancy?"

DeGraaf drew groans of protest from some House members when he responded, "I have a spare tire on my car."

"I also have life insurance," he added. "I have a lot of things that I plan ahead for.""

I always carry an extra vagina just in case I am going to be raped.

Oh jeez. What an embarrassment. Isn’t one Alan Keyes enough?

You’re not doing us any favors, Cain, so please, for the sake of all that’s decent, stop this farce, shut up, and retire, you anachronistic fool.

Oh Herman…I had such hopes for you.

Has Gary Johnson or Jon Huntsman said anything stupid yet? I can’t keep up.

So Republicans continue taking hostages of anyone in trouble or needing help in order to further their agenda to destroy every social program passed in the last 50 years.

Not so much stupid as just plain evil I guess, but hopefully it will backfire on them. I think they are overlooking the fact that the states hardest hit by the recent tornadoes are critical to any electoral success in 2012. If Missouri and Alabama and Oklahoma feel like they have been abandoned or used as political pawns, they may finally realize voting for Republicans means voting against their own self interest.

That’s pretty much the same position they have about waging war.

Republicans are still mold, so they haven’t evolved a lick. I would go so far as to say that many of them have regressed.

Really! Don’t insult mold!

I wonder if Billy Long has weighed in on that position…

BTW. Fear Itself, I quoted you, and noticed some pretty strange COLOR tags in the formatting. What’s up there?

I think I know what that is. When you copy and paste from that website, it includes a web link back to the article, which includes that color formatting for the link. Those tags are not visible in the advanced editing mode, so when I clipped out the back links, I missed some of the formatting tags, but couldn’t see them in the advanced editing mode.

Well, Joplin is pretty strongly GOP, & the smaller population center in a district with Springfield, Mo. (the whitest city in America)–I’m not sure how much difference that will make. Since our fat, fat freshman Congressman (R) made an appearance and went out with the volunteers, he may be able to be re-elected. We don’t vote directly for Cantor.

Apropos of nothing, I saw a great bumper sticker on a pickup truck on the interstate between Vicksburg and Jackson.

“Mississippi doesn’t need the Tea Party, we have the Klan”.

Heh.

Nah. It’s the socialist’s fault. If it had been some negro town they would have taken care of it already. Don’t underestimate the stupidity of the Kansas and Oklahoma folk.
