Stupid Republican idea of the day

“Mr. Drysdale, Jethro says he wants to have one of those thar sex-change operations.”

I guess my reputation on this board as a dyed in the wool Trump hater isn’t as strong as I thought it was. :frowning:

Or at least not enough to overcome Poe’s law. So since it wasn’t clear, yes woosh.

Texas judge blocks Obama’s trans-friendly school guidance.

A federal Texas judge, defying the 4th Circuit who has already ruled the rules were legal, issued an injunction nationwide to ban Obama’s rules allowing students who are trans to use the bathroom of their gender identity. Typically, cries of “activist judge” are overblown, a code for a ruling you don’t like, but this judge actually went above the 4th circuit and did it for jurisdictions outside of his represented state. Its a textbook example of judicial activism, ironic since Texas textbooks are so full of religious crap they are hardly worth the paper its printed on.

Like the article says, conservatives seem to be purposefully grinding the government to a halt using a handful of extremist right-wing judges in safe red states

Had yer back:

Don’t say I didn’t warn you! :stuck_out_tongue:

The Republican Party of Hawaii has officially disendorsed their party candidate for the 2nd Congressional District after she said that a vote for her opponent, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, who is Hindu, is a vote for Satanism.

Personally, I would have gone with an “I shit you not” opener.

I don’t see how the cartoon is inconsistent with the painting. The father in the painting has died, say, and his unmarried daughter inherits the house and since free of his puritanical control, has come out and married her true love, who to some possibly Freudian extant slightly resembles her father.

Eh, I have a now very elderly aunt who lived her entire life with her ‘partner’ on a farm in north central Minnesota.

C’mon, that’s a smart Republican idea!

Jesus, that Republican candidate is well above the mean level of crazy, even for the Republican Party. Check out the Facebook post she made about Japanese. It’s in this article, on the left, with the profanity and racial slurs blacked out.

The racist bigotry is bad, but it’s not even the meanest part of her campaign:

This confused me, until I read the article and learned that the shithead was born in Texas.

So all she needs to do is move back there and run in 2018?

In Hawaii, of all states, she ranted against Japanese people?

It’s not called a stupid Republican idea for nothing.

Big surprise, she’s a Trumpist. After googling, she has much more crazy to offer. For example, one of the prime ideas espoused on her ugly website is “Advance a Plan for Hawaiian Sovereignty” Apparently she’s had some mental issues, poor lady.

Judicial activism.

Ron Johnson doesn’t think colleges need to hire professors (and therefore having them corrupt innocent children), students can just watch internet videos.

To be fair, most of college learning is reading dozens of books a week before finals and dodging courses for beer runs in the meantime. Dodging internet videos doesn’t make much a difference :).

Could someone with better technical analysis chops than I possess estimate the vintage of that website?
