In fairness, it’s nice of him to risk jail time to bail out somebody else’s bad investments.
Oh, come on, guys like the orangetan are entitled to do stuff like that. Do not criticize them for their entitlements, only indigents and liberals may be criticized in that way.
If I ever have the opportunity to prepare food for, or serve food to, Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) I will be sure to personally reduce the regulatory oversight on washing my hands.
He sounds like a 14 year old idjit who had just read Atlas Shrugged and thinks it’s cool.
Excuse me if I don’t shake your hand, Senator.
Having to put up a sign if you “opt out” of a regulation is… still a regulation.
Didn’t someone once post an amazing thread about what it would take to order a sandwich in Libertarianland?
I wonder if his next step would be to make it illegal to sue for food-borne illnesses.
Dunno. Maybe someone could look up any statements he’s made since February, 2015, when he came up with that gem…
Thom Tillis may be a carpet-bagging, knuckle-dragging moron, but even he’s not dumb enough to say that twice.
I wonder if any food workers, upon seeing him across from them, said “Hang on a second, I gotta go take a dump. You won’t mind, will you, if I don’t wash my hands before coming back?”
Just how big of a burden IS it to put a sign saying you gotta wash your hands after using the toilet?
Between this and the transgender dustup awhile back I hadn’t realized Big Toilet had such a powerful lobby.
Well, you’ve gotta think like a Libertarian here.
Clearly, it’s WAY, way easier to put up a sign indicating that you have no handwashing regulations for employees than it is to put up a sign in the washrooms telling employees to wash their hands.
Can’t find it, so we may have to re-invent the wheel:
-
Enter sandwich shop, look for certificates of food safety and worker hygiene.
-
Determine which company did the food safety audit. Check your database for this particular company’s track record. Have they done a good job? Have consumers died from food-borne illness after eating at a restaurant they inspected?
-
Look for 3rd party audits of the food inspection company
-
Check your database of corporate ownership - is the sandwich shop chain a subsidiary of the same company that owns the food safety inspection group?
-
Inspect the supply chain certificates for all of the ingredients that you are ordering. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 above for ingredients.
-
(optional, if you have a social conscience) Look for certificates of fair wages for workers. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 for the company that issues these certificates
Don’t forge to check the certifications, et. al. of the companies and farms which grew and manufactured the items which make up the sandwich and the companies which transport all of the individual items.
Don’t forget to inspect the inspection of their payment scales, for when you pay with specie, you wouldn’t want to accidentally get ripped off.
You can always rely on barter instead of specie.
Freudian slip?
