Stupid Republican idea of the day

Couldn’t they hire one of them there shabby goys?

GOP Kentucky state legislative candidate posts racist Obama images.

Dan Johnson, the bishop of Heart of Fire Church in Louisville, posted an edited image of the President and first lady Michelle Obama with ape-like features. He also labeled a photo of a chimpanzee a baby picture of Obama.

“It wasn’t meant to be racist. I can tell you that. My history’s good there. I can see how people would be offended in that. I wasn’t trying to offend anybody, but, I think Facebook’s entertaining,” Johnson told WDRB, the Louisville TV station…

Hates Islam too. A real tool. State Repub’s disavowed comments.

“He wasn’t subtle enough.” - not an actual quote.

Not a stupid Republican idea, as such, but the last part of this hurts my head,
Obama:
“*They’re looking at Charlie Crist down in Florida. One hug [from me] and he was toast. Chris Christie couldn’t get his presidential race launched — it was basically over before it started — because he was too friendly and cooperative with me in accepting federal aid for [hurricane Sandy].

They’re imagining the potential problems that arise, so it’s pretty hard for them to publicly say, ‘Obama’s a perfectly reasonable guy, but we just can’t work with him because our base thinks he’s the Antichrist’ …

Sometimes I tease them about it behind the scenes. I’ll tell them, ‘Look, if you need some help, me attacking you or you know.’ And the times where we have gotten things done, it has been very important for me to, frankly, help them try to manage their base.*”
As you do. I mean, my budget is pretty stretched, but you bet if they gave me an extra 50 a month I’d **finally **have a proper smack allowance.

Guiliani on “Meet the Press”:

Chuck Todd: “You have your own infidelity charge.”

“Well, everybody does.”

This just made me ill:

Yeah, “I’m a Roman Catholic who has been married three times” sounds kind of like “I am deeply religious but I don’t give a shit about what it means to be deeply religious.”

Not me. I’ll only get around to infidelity once I resolve my heroin supply situation. Good news, though. I’m in the running for a promotion. If I get it, it’s skag and affairs for me from now on!

Good for you, I guess? I assume he means rapists who were also the victim of sexual abuse, but it sounds a bit like - "I put rape victims in jail. "

Nice pivot, Rudy. Asked a question about marital infidelity and he starts talking about rapists and sexual abuse.

On second thought, extremely clumsy pivot. Blow the whistle…traveling.

Can anyone explain to me what’s going on with Guiliani? What’s he get for being one of Trump’s surrogates? Did Hillary run over his dog or something? First of all, the guy is from NYC, so he can’t possibly have any illusions about Trump. My understanding is that NYC, in general, can’t stand the guy. What’s more, Guiliani, especially in the past week or so, has been forced to defend some really truly offensive Trump quotes by saying even more offensive stuff. So whatever tiny legacy left from his mayoral days is getting shredded.

Does Guiliani actually believe in Trump; that he’s a “genius”? Or is he just such a rabid political hack that he’ll say anything to defend the side he’s chosen?

My theory is that he and Christie were made offers they couldn’t refuse, and I don’t mean large sums of money.

I can’t help but think that Ol’ Rudy has some ambitions that he thinks a President Trump can advance. There are, after all, bound to be some vacancies on the Supreme Court – hell, there is a vacancy right now. He may also see the opportunity to be the puller of the levers of power in a Trump Administration. An old saw: the ambition of the general is not a bigger tent, it is command.

Which one?

On 9/10/2001 no great majority was terribly upset at Rudy being term-limited out (the attack happened on primaries day, in fact). And when he was crass enough to float the possibility of staying on in view of the emergency, that was swatted down fast.

Gee… ya think maybe?

He may be also still sore over the huge egg he laid in his own presidential bid.

Chris Christie is more agile and lithe than he looks. Watch him do verbal gymnastics to show that the Trump tax story is actually good for Captain Cheeto.

9/11 put a shiny halo on a steaming turd. Ghouliani was always a petty little asshole and New Yorkers knew it, before and after. Even when we voted for him. (I didn’t, but I knew plenty of folks who thought he was a useful idiot.)

I’m a boomer, and I can see this is our last hurrah. In four years I think (notice the waffle word) none of these people will be relevant. Note this prediction and laugh at me when I’m wrong.

Tricky. As the Baby Boomers get older:

 1. Are they likely to get more conservative? (maybe)
 2. Are they more likely to vote? (almost certainly)

How long before their numbers are reduced by natural causes to where they’re matched by new voters, assuming:

 1. People 18-21 are on average liberal (probably)
 2. Their voting rates are low (almost certainly)

Rudy: apparently his infidelities are no big dealer, because everybody cheats.

Come on, Rick, read the fucking thread before you post. At least catch up the n the day. It is a big thread, yes, but it is not growing that fast.
