Is that a rapey-er or a rappy-ay?

Not at all; I love a good punctuationalist. Yeah, that’s not a word.
Chefguy:
Senate Republicans are going to start cabinet appointment hearings before background and conflict of interests investigations are done. This is, of course, unprecedented and the Ethics Office is “alarmed”. Democrats have vowed to do what they can to slow things down, but apparently shot themselves in the foot back when they were in charge and will be unable to filibuster.
This quote from noted devil spawn John Cronyn (Asshole-TX) is laugh-worthy:
“Holding up confirmations just for delay’s sake is irresponsible and it is dangerous,” said Senator John Cornyn, Republican of Texas. He added, “This is a dangerous world we are living in, and why in the world would we want to make it even more dangerous just to let our colleagues delay for delay’s sake President-elect Trump getting to fill his cabinet, particularly these important national security offices?”
I’d think that he’s trying to be funny here, but I’m pretty sure his sense of humor was strangled at birth, as he should have been.
Tom DeLay? What does he have to do with anything?
Because, “argle-bargle antisemitism!” I suppose.
You act like we’re not already. I don’t mean AIPAC is driving. They might be riding shotgun next to the oil industry?
That’s some people’s kink, you know.
Hi, Fenris!

Trump and his Gang Of Billionaires aren’t in power yet.

I’m not entirely sure it’s in Israel’s best interests, either.
Jason Chaffetz plans on continuing to hold hearings on Hillary’s emails.
James O’Keefe and Allison Maass allegedly caught trying to set up violent protests during the inauguration to make leftists look bad.
Well, sure. It’s time to grow up and move on with regard to Russian tampering in our Presidential election, but I don’t think we’ve looked into Hillary’s emails enough. And while we’re at it, isn’t it high time somebody asks her about Benghazi?
And they’ve just put themselves in the same untrustworthy box their target is in.
Why couldn’t they have released the raw footage?
That part should go in the Stupid Liberal Idea thread.
I’ll let Clothy do it. At least he can claim one real, actual stupid liberal idea.
And he’ll owe me.

He’ll screw it up, like every other post of his in that thread. Give the man a clear shot at an open goal and he’ll end up setting himself on fire.

In February 2009, McConnell wrote a letter to Senator Harry Reid, then the majority leader, saying there could be no action on Obama’s nominees pending a long list of demands, including completion of reviews by the Office of Government Ethics.
Yesterday, Chuck Schumer returned the same letter to McConnell with the names doctored.
It could actually be to the benefit of the nominees to be fully vetted since they are legally liable for unethical behavior.

My hope is that the lack of vetting by the Republicans comes back to bite them in the ass, and several of their appointments that they rammed through are indicted for major crimes, or are found to be serial pedophiles.
Of course, the usual suspects will then try to spin pedophilia into a positive attribute.
As long as it doesn’t involve pizza …

Don’t expect any federal prosecutions though. Recall the firing of U.S. Attorneys who wanted to prosecute criminals instead of working on the GOP voter-suppression project . That was under GW Bush, soon to be only the second -worst American President ever. We look back fondly on the Bush-Cheney-Rove travesty, which seems almost saintly compared with what’s coming soon.

I had not been a fan of Chuck Schumer, but his behavior lately has me coming around. If the Democratic Party as such is going to work, he may be a good person to make it work.

I suppose you won’t be happy until he nominates a bunch of priests. Oh wait…
GOP Rep wants CNN to fire reporter Jim Acosta for supposedly being disrespectful to P-E Trump (by asking him a question he didn’t like?).
