This is really stupid and I’d be willing to bet that everyone who is involved with this or visits the place is a Republican, so I’m going to put this here.
There is so much stupid here it’s mind-boggling. And idiots will eat it up.

And then Huff Po went and spoiled it by stating that dinosaurs were extinct before man came to be, when in fact birds are dinosaurs.
Sorry, I can’t agree. That’s like plan 9 from outer space. It passes all the way through stupid and comes out the other side as awesome. Way cooler than the dioramas then you tend to get most natural history museums. All it needs is some zomibes, ooooh and pirates, yeah definately priates , and maybe some sparkly vampires …
He probably thought he was beating a bible.
Touché Rick Kitchen!
“The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel in Colorado is accusing state Sen. Ray Scott of defamation and threatening to sue. If filed, legal experts said it would be the first suit of its kind, potentially setting a legal definition for what is considered fake news and what is not.”
There is a really major problem based on the wry assertion by Jon Stewart that The Daily Show was fake news (or a fake news program). Its content was more legitimate than what was being aired on some other broadcasts, and often more insightful (and sometimes inciteful). So now, when they talk about “fake news”, the waters are muddied by the existence of a very good news program that called itself fake.
But he fully admitted that he took things out of context for humor, and there were many times when the punchline of a joke did detract from the actual meaning of a statement.
He did cover news and events, but he had no illusions about being a news source himself. Almost all of the field pieces the daily show did were not good journalism (there were a few that kinda were, mostly about the VA issues, but even they were more to bring your attention to the matter than to actually inform you comprehensively on it.) but rather pretty much hit pieces, where interviews were re-edited, or “people on the street” were selected in order to make the comedic narrative work.
Not saying I did not enjoy the daily show, and still find it entertaining with Noah, and I do think it did do some good work in bringing some issues to the public’s attention that otherwise may have been ignored, but I will side with its creator in declaring it to be “fake news”, as compared to “real news”. If you are only getting your news from comedy programs, you are actually not going to be all that informed about the world (though still better informed than if you watch Fox[though that could be considered to be comedy in and of itself]).
Here’s the thing … The Daily Show is not a “fake news” show; it’s a fake “news show.” It’s subtle, but there is a difference.
Somebody made the comment during a previous campaign: “How crazy is this country? I’m now getting my news from Comedy Central and my comedy from Fox News.”
Perfectly well stated. In hindsight it was an unfortunate term for John Stewart to use, since it’s been co-opted for something entirely different.
The Daily Show was a satire of news programs, that used real news paired with humorous commentary.
SNL Weekend Update, The Onion, and (going waaaay back) Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-in are news satires that use made-up stories to make their humorous points. So they’re closer to “fake news”, I guess.
InfoWars is a dispenser of bullshit disguised as news. The original “fake news”.
Supposedly, the great patriot and war hero Ted Nugent is considering running for office now. THAT shit stain, running for public office. WTF.
I hope he does his public rallies by shitting in his pants for a week before he goes on stage.
Last month, two hunters in South Texas were found shot while on a hunting trip. They claimed they had been shot by illegal aliens. Authorities have now found that they shot each other, and they have been charged with third degree felonies.
Prior to their story falling apart, however, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, (who was on the short list for Trump’s Secretary of Agriculture) who in the past has posted inflammatory information about Hillary Clinton, immediately jumped on the story to justify why we need a wall.
His comments have since been taken down.
That’s great advertising for their services.
One hunting guide shoots the client, and in turn is shot by the other hunting guide.
It’s got to be a metaphor for something, doesn’t it?
They’re probably just covering up for Cheney.
Nice!
There’s a bill before the Alabama legislature that would not only repeal the requirement that you have a carry permit before carrying a gun, but it would also grant permits to everybody who was previously denied a carry permit.
The bill specifically says its goal is to “require partisan balance”
