Paul Ryan speaks candidly, on-camera
I’d be okay with industrial regulations containing sunset clauses by default, unless congress votes specifically for renewal. They can call witnesses to explain why a particular regulation should be renewed or let to expire, with the amusing extra requirement that any member of congress who voted for or against the legislation in the first place and wants to now change his or her position must explain why they are doing so.
I’m a chemistry professor at a small liberal-arts university, and I got one of these in the mail today. It currently graces my trash can, with the CD-ROM bent in half in token of my respect.
Sounds like the conservative plan is ‘We’re doomed anyway, so fuck it, let’s make some money while we can’.
Should’ve ran the CD through a shredder.
More, “We’re dooming them anyway, so fuck them, let’s make some money off of them while we can.”
Shoulda used the microwave first, lots of pretty sparks, and ends up with a cool pattern
I’d be cool with this.
Iowa pubbies, once again trying to restrict women have basically said women are their parent’s control with regards to abortion until married -even if they are over 18.
Wimmens is propertee!
- It is likely the ‘or’ in the above quote was supposed to be an ‘and’, but given the alternative-facts nature of the GOP these days I am not in the mood to be charitible about such ‘mistakes’.
Yes, but there is nothing to worry about, mr Trump will solve this quite soon.
Yeah, sounds like a great idea. “Hey, look, 14-2§8(2025935/9) has expired. Now we can save money by dumping our dioxin in the river again. Remind me to earmark a hefty contribution to Congressman Canfield’s[sup][/sup] re-election fund, since he was instrumental in stalling the review process until the sunset clause kicked in*.”
Seems as though a few regulations are indeed petty, but many others are probably not suited for sunsetting.
*Canfield votes like a typical politician,
Guided by November intuition
For Canfield is but half a man,
The other half Republican
– Alan Ginsburg
Even if it is supposed to be ‘and’, that likely implies that the woman should have her husband’s approval instead.
Stooping to the level of Scientology Incorporated. (They spammed charter schools around here with library sets of ElRon’s collected works a few years back. Probably “persuaded” church members to pay for/donate them.)
I kinda wish there had been some kind of movement where everyone video’ed themselves shredding or otherwise destroying the disks with a comment of contempt . Then put it on socia lmedia.

It should be noted that their latest anti-freedom-and-privacy strategery has been to focus on attacking the medical professionals rather than the dainty lasses themselves. The offending text in the senate bill reads
So, technically, the bill does not infringe on the rights of women, it only criminalizes women’s health providers.
Well, maybe there can be a demarcation between industrial laws that permanently ban activities (until the law is repealed) and industrial regulations that ban activities until the regulation expires, the distinction possibly being that laws are for activities likely to get people killed, as is the case for dioxin-dumping.
It’s not automatically specious to say that regulation dampens innovation, though I’ve seen a whole lotta specious claims of it lately.
Try to get proponents of the law to say abortion is not a medical procedure (probably not difficult to do, if you choose your phrasing carefully). Then it doesn’t have to be performed by medical professionals.
Texas mayor calls Hispanic city council member “boy” during a city council meeting.
Not seeing how that would help.
You can’t threaten to take the medical license from someone who doesn’t have one. The procedure itself, or at least the basic D&C version, could probably be performed safely by someone with the right instruments and a few months’ training.
I’m just looking for possible workarounds.
Pence breaks tie to allow states to block federal money for abortion providers. This applies to federal dollars** not used** for abortions, but conservatives feel abortion providers shouldn’t receive any taxpayer funds.
Fuck’in Pricks. And Fuck You too Pence, you greasy piece of possum shit.
