Stupid Republican idea of the day

That’s the kind of rhetoric usually reserved for the enemy during wartime. Makes you wonder, eh?

“We have always been at war with the Democrat Party.”

Some in Georgia are still nostalgic for the efficiencies of slavery.

It *was *a moneysaver.

Your debts are paid because you don’t pay for labor.

Imagine how that would have gone over during the satanic panic.

The Republican Kansas legislature has passed, and sent to the Governor, a bill requiring that women receive information in black, 12-point Times New Roman font, pamphlets giving them detailed information about abortions and the doctor about to perform the procedure.

Pat Boone calls for government censorship of “blasphemous” programming like Saturday Night Live. He also thinks that the media helped to cover up where Obama was really born, and is disappointed that Trump isn’t still investigating.

To quote one of the comments in that thread:

“The fact that Pat Boone is alive and Prince is dead proves there is no God.”

Not stupid, in fact the opposite of stupid, but Gianforte has publicly apologized to Ben Jacobs, said Jacobs did not initiate contact with him, and is donating $50,000 to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

Fed up with Congress, conservatives in Wisconsin want to call the states together for a convention that would add a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Imagine the mayhem that would ensue.

Good job, Mr. Gianforte!

I am impressed. Someone has been paying attention to all the “THIS is how you apologize” stuff that’s been so prevalent on the internet recently.

Meaningless. The proper response is “Apology accepted, Captain Needa. See you in court.”

Some already have imagined it.

Additionally, Delaware rescinded last year. Meanwhile, there is nothing in the Constitution outlining how this process should be handled, and Congress itself must call the convention, which means they can probably make excuses as to why those old petitions are expired or invalid or something. Because, you see, calling the convention means Congress must cede power to it.

After that, whatever the convention might draft, 38 states still have to ratify. So, probably not a big concern.

Wisconsin submitted a federal request Wednesday to become the first state in the country to drug test applicants for Medicaid health benefits. Republican Gov. Scott “Chicken Shit” Walker expects President Donald Trump’s administration to approve the waiver, which would also impose new requirements on able-bodied, childless adults receiving Medicaid in the state.

The request comes as Walker, a one-time GOP presidential candidate, prepares for a likely re-election bid, the Fucker.

Senator Roy Blunt ® Missouri, to Comey today:

“If the president had not terminated your service, would you still be the head of the FBI?”

Senator John McCain ® Arizona, re: his performance today. Should he be put out to pasture?

By “put out to pasture,” I mean “shot in the head with a bolt gun and buried at sea with full Naval honors (even though he crashed all those planes).”

Ahh Pat. I remember seeing The Cramps at the Palladium and in between bands, the played In a Metal Mood: No More Mr Nice Guy over the PA system. It was great. Pat would have wet himself.

I was following the testimony by way of the NY Times instant analysis…when they got to McCain’s question, the Times reporters in a very polite and professional way, indicated that McCain seemed to be conflating Hillary’s emails and Russian hacking.
