Of course, I agree with Rep. Bachmann on this. I’d love a return to a 70% maximum tax rate for the ultra-rich.
The stupidity here is not in her desire to roll back the clock to 80s tax levels, but for thinking that she’s proposing lower tax rates when in fact she’s proposing a massive tax increase (as the TPM headline makes clear.)
Well, let us be fair. if we roll back environmental regulations, just to take one example, it would almost certainly create jobs. I mean, how many firefighters and related personnel do you suppose it took to put out the Cuyahoga river?
IIRC, they didn’t, they just let it burn the crap off. Take the shit out of the river, put it in the air. Republican environmentalism. Emphasis on “mental”.
Have you noticed that as this thread goes on, we tend to ignore about fifty percent of the really stupid simply because it is overwhelmed by the incredibly stupid?
It’s like an all-you-can-eat buffet that has bacon wrapped steaks and lobster. Normally, people would be climbing over their grandmothers to get to the bacon wrapped steaks, but you put some lobster on the side of the room and suddenly nobody is interested in steak.
Well…once tax rates go into the negative, can they keep lowering them? I mean, the actual value is a negative number, but the farther they reduce things the actual number goes up! So it’s like taxes are higher…right?
That’s when we need Step 2 of the New American Century – we conquer the world, strip it of value, and give all the good shit to natural born Christian Real Americans!
Boy, it’s a good thing the Teabaggers were elected in 2010 on a “it’s the jobs, stupid!” platform. That way, they can create jobs by killing women, in a #OccupyYourUterus takeover.
