Stupid Republican idea of the day

This wonderful piece at Slate fully spells out all of the failures and the accompanying fall from grace for this “loser.”

I’m going to link to this story every time a thread starts with “Liberals believe” or “Liberals do”

“Republicans are Holocaust Deniers” makes for a good rebuttal I think.

If such a thing did happen, he’d probably get a Trump pardon like Arpaio.

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney thinks somebody from the “Deep State” ordered Ben Carson’s $31,000 table set to make him look bad.
She’s the same moron who said “many mass shooters wind up being Democrats.”

So, apparently his wife Candy is a deep state operative? Ben Carson Just Used the “Women Be Shopping” Defense at a Congressional Hearing

Wow, he just flat-out threw his wife straight under the bus. Stone cold.

Yeah. Carson’s a HUGE asshole, but I didn’t think he was THAT much of an asshole.

National Treasure Sen. Liz Warren called him out TO HIS FACE yesterday, not only for grifting but for being bad at his job:

That is unfair. His definition of what his job entails may differ greatly from her definition. For all we know, he is doing well by his (or CFSG’s) terms and progressing toward his goals, whatever those might be. Who is she, a lowly Senator, to be trying to boss him around. Talk about uppity (and persistent).

Not sure if you’re being facetious (Poe’s Law, and all that) but this does raise an interesting point.

Sen Warren may be under the impression that the goals of an Executive Branch department are fairly constant. But as evidenced by what’s happening at EPA and CFPB, we can see that they’re subject to the caprices of the president.

So it’s possible that HUD has these goals:

  1. Buy yourself some nice furniture.
  2. If confronted by housing discrimination, see goal #1.

In which case, he’s crushing it.

Burning biomass is carbon neutral because the trees that are replanted will just suck that shit right back up.

I’ll be damned. I stupidly thought biomass was pretty close to carbon neutral too. Thanks for relieving me of that bit of ignorance.

It can be. If you are using agricultural waste that is renewed every year, sure. If you are growing a crop specifically to turn into fuel, that works too(though may have other externalities to consider).

Unfortunately, it takes much longer to grow a tree than to burn it. If we were in a place where CO[sub]2[/sub] levels were at an acceptable level and more or less stable, then burning wood for energy would probably not be a bad thing.

Where we are, though, there is no way for forests to absorb what we’ve already put out, much less the additional usage.

The NRA is taunting the Parkland students today.

Republican candidate for Congress wants an 8 PM curfew for members of Congress.

I got it.

As I suspected, she’s actually a candidate for the Republican nomination.

Given California’s nonpartisan blanket primary, how likely is it that two parties will be represented on the November ballot in this district (its Darrell Issa’s old seat)?

Very likely.

Rick Santorum: “Instead of calling for gun laws, kids should take CPR classes”

CNN giving that anal excretion airtime smacks of desperation.

Yeah, and they should stop “looking to someone else to solve their problems,” because, you know, they could just change policies and push bills through all by themselves without even having the right to vote yet. Or they could take on some extra summer jobs to buy themselves bulletproof vests and solve their own damn problems that way.

Just waiting for Clothahump to show up and mock the youth for what they’re doing…Oh, never mind; he already accused them of being the same kids who just a few weeks ago were chowing down on Tide Pods.
