Well, actually, it’s the ones who didn’t eat the Tide pods. Natural Selection For The Win!
The ONLY thing in Santorum’s defense (and I feel oogy saying that) that underlied his comments that [sic] “Phony gun laws won’t change anything”.
At least in that respect, he’s not wrong. But what horrible, stupid and insensitive things to say otherwise.
Equipoise - Congrats on the anniversary of starting this long history documenting the decline of the Republican party and politics in general (3/26/2009).
It’s been a source for factual ammunition to combat fools and never fails to get my blood boiling - a great start to the morning; better than strong coffee
Stop. His solution is to teach kids to push the blood out of a dying person faster.
So, let’s agree we need effective policy changes, 'k?
Over time, the CPR compressions will make the chest denser, therefore making one bullet-proof!?
(Yeah, I got nothing either.)
CMC fnord!
I can’t be bothered to watch the Santorum clip. Is it possible he was using “learn CPR” as synecdoche for “learn lifesaving skills”? It’s still stupid, but stupid in a different way.
Then it is dangerously stupid.
There are known effective emergency kits, and treatments, for gun shot victims, including a kit developed by one of the first responders at the Giffords shooting, widely credited with saving lives. He should know what saved his co-workers life, at least.
He’s probably freaked out because it’s a tampon.
From the cnn page linked above,
“How about kids instead of looking to someone else to solve their problem, do something about maybe taking CPR classes or trying to deal with situations that when there is a violent shooter that you can actually respond to that,” Santorum said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
So yeah, mentioning CPR was a slip-up on his part. He is saying that there will be shooters, so kids should be trained to provide first aid to the victims.
We have tried doing nothing and it has not worked, so we need to do less.
I was taught first aid, with no reference to active shooters, and I did not attend high school in a peaceful era. If the goal is to teach first aid, stop defunding classes because they also include basic human physiology.
As much as I’m in favor of any program that involves taking off brassieres non-sexually in a semi-public class, I imagine that man doesn’t know anything about first aid, neither CPR nor anything to do with treating a GSW.
He’s basically saying that he and his ilk are going to go ahead and let people buy guns to blow them away at will, so they may as well learn to help each other since no one else will be doing it if he has his way.
I suppose it’s honest, if nothing else.
I mean, kids these days, whattaya gonna do? Outside of cheer, clap, whistle, and applaud, that is.
My current federal Congresscritter, Republican Ryan Costello, has decided not to run for re-election based in part on the anger in today’s politics and in part because the PA Supreme Court redrew the congressional districts to eliminate gerrymandering, and his is now “more Democratic friendly”.
Translation: People don’t like Trump, and I can’t win unless the table is rigged in my favor.
I happen to live in the district that fuck weasel represents, and I am happy with his decision.
Republican Congressman is pushing a rumor that Paul Ryan is about to resign.
Ryan denies it, but says he and his wife will discuss whether he will run for re-election later this summer.
He’s afraid of Iron Stache!
Crazy old man stands on the corner and yells at the clouds.
And then falls over, dizzy from all the spinning.
I honestly was not aware that Donald was appreciative of those who voiced disagreement with him. He’s really starting to win me over.
Mittens Romney again. A slightly more animated version of Jeb Bush. All 16/17 of the Republican debaters will have jobs in this administration soon. Only because Agent Orange trusts people he has met - even if it was just on a trashy quiz show (the “debates”, not the Apprentice).
um,
“… for Dreamers to justify permanent residency in the U.S., they should get a degree, serve in the military …”
wait, what? Non-citizens can serve in the military?
