So I think it would be funny if next February, Speaker Pelosi announces that she’s listened to those congress critters and is appointing a married pastor who has children – Allyson D. Nelson Abrams, current pastor of Empowerment Liberation Cathedral in Silver Spring. Abrams has been married since 2013 to Diana Williams, a bishop emeritus with the Imani Temple African-American Catholic Congregation in Washington, D.C.
Preach violent solutions to political issues for long enough and people start to believe you. And not all of those people are on your side.
On the macro side, this is hogwash. There isn’t any threat of some sudden Maoist uprising on the left. On the micro side, hey, it’s the way it works. You preach violence, some of the people you talk about killing are going to want to strike first.
I have a long standing interest in ethnic jokes, especially those told by ethnic “neighbors”, like what jokes do Lithuanians tell about Poles, etc.

Well, Dougie is now suing to try and get on the Republican ballot to retain his job. Why? because:
The legal theory he’s pushing might qualify as a stupid Republican idea. He’s contending that the requirement for signature gatherers to reside in the state somehow violates First Amendment freedom of association. It smacks of desperate flailing to me.
The Army is investigating the chaplains at Fort Campbell, Kentucky for firing the base’s volunteer Jewish chaplains without explanation or cause and requiring Jewish military members to hold their religious services on dates that did not coincide with the actual dates of the holidays, in order to not discommode Christians on base.
I thought what we call ethnic “Finns” were *Suomi *in their own tongue, and it was the “Lapps” called Sami. But yes, it’s a related language to Sami; not Scandinavian, non-Germanic, and non-Indo-European.
However, Finland also has a large Swedish-speaking population, sometimes called Fennoswedes.
