This reminds me of a conservative friend who blames the media for Trump getting elected because they kept reporting on what he said and did. I tried to point out that if they decided to ignore him to prevent him from being elected, that would show bias.

There are three main candidates running for governor in the Republican primary in Tennessee. They are all trying to out-Trump each other. One of the ads I saw over the weekend said “they (her opponents) are nice guys but they are moderates!” The horror! Who would want someone moderate when you can have an extremist? I expect to see more ads fighting it out for who is the most extreme ever.

The “good” news about this is China is tailoring it’s retaliatory tariffs to hit the states that voted Trump in the hardest. So this trade war may have deleterious effects on Trump’s base.
