Stupid Republican idea of the day

Unfortunately, that’s good radio ratings, I’m guessing. Those who listen to the show pumped a fist at that… if they got the reference.

A Nazi group in Idaho is making racist robocalls to Florida voters concerning the Democratic candidate for Governor.

You know, they could have done something a lot nastier: Made a realistic-sounding robocall which pretended to be from Gillum’s campaign advocating something a bit further left than what Gillum is actually running on. Turn him from a Clinton who might get a win, to a Sanders who has absolutely no hope in a reddish-purple state. Probably wouldn’t even be that hard.

Instead, they prove that, among all their other failings, they have no idea how to talk to, or even sound like, normal human beings.

WalMart? The Left? I knew there was a reason I stopped wearing bow-ties.

The Kansas Supreme Court has ruled that a grand jury must be empaneled to investigate Kris Kobach’s refusals to register certain voters.

A reporter tried to ask Congressman Rod Blum of Iowa about his involvement in the same racist Facebook group as Ron DeSantis, but instead of answering the question, Blum tweeted out the reporter’s question, along with his office address, cellphone number, Twitter handle, and other work details.

Laura Ingraham thinks the government should take over Facebook and Twitter and run them as public utitities to prevent bias against conservatives.

Pennsylvania GOP Official Resigns After Calling Protesting NFL Players ‘Baboons’ and ‘Ignorant Blacks’ on Facebook

That’s not half of the insults. What’s stupid is that she resigned. I see it coming soon where it will be white supremacist dogma all the time - no apologies, no resignation, no shame.

And yeah, I’m sure she has black friends too. "In her resignation letter (pdf) to Kohser, Maloney said her words were “inappropriate, distasteful and insensitive” and that “those who know me know that I come from a diverse family that represents modern America.”

Representing modern America means racist Trumpista.

I want to post this question in GD or at least IMHO, but I don’t know how. And I’m afraid I might poison the well: If the Buffoon is for it, I’m agin’ it.

Does the U.S.A. need “Space Force”?

John Oliver’s guy interviews some Trump supporters who are pretty sure we do need Space Force. I’m posting this in the Stupid Republican thread, because I’m not sure the people interviewed in this clip have … (what’s the euphemism? elevators that go all the way up to the top floor?)

I’ve set the URL to start at the beginning of the 4-minute Space Force segment; fast forward to 10:05 to hear what the Trumpettes think.

Some think it’s “cloud computer.” Some want to “make Space great again.” One woman says it’s “finding out what’s out there, I guess.” (— But NASA does space exploration.) “NASA is only going to tell us what they want us to know. Whereas Trump will send his own stuff and we will find out the truth.”

“We need space Force. It doesn’t make a lot of sense and t’s going to be wasting a lot of dollars, but it would be cool… I stand by that statement 100%. … We need regulations in space …” (—Isn’t Trump against regulations?) " Yeah … I just stuttered myself here. You know what? It’s just a cool name." (This from the Trumpette who had tied his own shoes and drove himself to the Space Force rally.)
I really hope someone starts a thread in GD. What do Hurricane, Octopus and the other morons think? Do we need to Make Space Great Again?

How about the guys that mentions the possibility of “Space ISIS”?

I still say it’s just so Trump can buy property on the moon, build a hotel and let it go bankrupt. Then hear about how “the moon clean-up of the defunct Trump Moon Hotel will bring jobs for everyone!”

I’m pretty sure you mean Trevor Noah.

Does anybody know what Ingraham’s stance was on net neutrality before last week?

You’re right. They could have done actual harm to Gillum. Instead they merely brought down scorn upon their pointed little heads.

Shockingly, it appears that neo-Nazis may be a bit lacking in the ‘intelligence’ department.

I’m not sure this is a bad thing? Maybe the real shame/tragedy is the existence and wide spread of these beliefs in the first place, and it’s better to make the center and moderate right acknowledge the reality of race relations in America?

Ladies and gentlemen, the party of “small government, free market, no commies !”

Bryan Steil, the Republican running for Paul Ryan’s seat, released a three minute silent B roll for PACs to use to make videos for his campaign. His opponent, Democrat Randy Bryce, decided to use it …

Aren’t campaigns not supposed to coordinate with PACs? That sounds pretty coordinated.

No coordination!

It may be that he released into the public domain without comment as to how he would like to see it used precisely so it couldn’t be legally proven to be an attempt at coordination, and just assumed that a deep-pocketed PAC would pick it up and run with it (thereby permitting him to save some expenditures from his own war chest). But by making it public domain, he opened himself to having it used by ANYBODY.

And now he can’t say “Hey cut that out! That’s not what I intended to be done with that footage!” ‘Cos if he did, he’d be in a world of hurt for violating federal election law.

I got bored with it because they were taking too long to get to the part with Stan-called-Loretta.
