Stupid Republican idea of the day

May I point out Virginia had a +2 seat House Democratic pickup. So I cannot be too mad about Riggleman.
And hey, Bigfoot erotica sure is a lot more tolerable than trolling malls for 14 year olds, texting dick pics, or cruising men’s rooms on the downlow.

The Arizona GOP has filed a Public Records Request with the Maricopa County Recorder.

One of the requests is for any correspondence with George Soros :smack:

With a county recorder!

ETA - the request was filed on the 10th and they expect results starting on the 12th - in the middle of the ballot count.

I suspect the main reason for filing the request is to get “George Soros” and “Maricopa County Recorder” in the same legal document. Thereby confirming to The Base™ that a Democratic victory was fraudulent.

I like that the request was filed on a Saturday but they expect results ready for them Monday morning. Good luck with that!

They sure did a crappy job of fraud. Most of the winners were Republicans…

Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Mississippi) defends racist remark:

An “exaggerated expression of regard”? :dubious::rolleyes:

Okay, maybe it’s just me, but I don’t really need to turn this into a negative connotation because it’s already got a hugely negative connotation, and Sen. Hyde-Smith just deliberately invoked it.

When I was younger, I used to think I wanted to visit all 50 states. Now, I see no reason at all to ever go to several of them. Mississippi is high on that list.

She didn’t say it on accident. It wasn’t casual. She wanted to assure her supporters that she is pro-lynching - just like they are.

Now that Scott Walker has lost the Wisconsin governorship, the Republican led legislature wants to limit the new Democratic Governor’s powers.
Wisconsin Republicans look to limit governor's power after Scott Walker's defeat | Salon.com?

I guess you had to put this here, but it’s not really a stupid idea. More like an asshole power grabbing motherfuckers idea of the day. Think we need a thread like that too?

Rep. Steve King, caught in the act of being himself

A la North Carolina.

This is why the next step will have to be taking state legislatures. Last Tuesday was a good start, but 25 years of republican misrule has to be completely reversed. We can’t just go back and forth, being a speedbump that merely slows down the republican assault on American democracy every 4 to 6 years. Taking the House was good, but it was even more important that Dems made gains in state races. The fight for America’s soul is in state and local elections, and congressional elections 2nd. The real advantage that Republicans have is that they’ve won power in this country not by taking top-down executive level action, but rather winning county by county, district by district, state by state. To use a baseball analogy, Republicans played small ball while Dems tried to hit grand slams. Small ball won. We have to do the same to them now.

It doesn’t help in places like New York, where in the precious legislature, the Democrats had a majority but enough of them defected to the Republicans to get a Republican majority. The Democrats took back the legislature again after this election, but will they hold it?

Conservative toy seller is selling MAGA “Build the Wall” building blocks with a little Trump figure.

Stop misusing “Conservative”.

Shouldn’t he be directing his attentions to the Big Orange Cheese directly? I mean, unless he has information that some of the senators share his predilection for sprinkling…

Republican representative Mark Romanchuk of Ohio has introduced a bill to nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Wow, that’s stupid on multiple levels. Even aside from the idiocy in thinking that Trump deserves the award, there are enough people qualified to make Nobel nominations that Trump is pretty much guaranteed to be nominated, anyway. Heck, any member of Trump’s cabinet could do it. But for the cherry on top, national legislatures are not valid nominators, so this bill couldn’t do anything even if it passed.

Will he be one-upped when someone nominates Trump for sainthood? Or is there some line beyond which even Trump will know sycophancy has turned to sarcasm?

Doesn’t matter. Obama got one, so Trump supporters must strain every sinew to show how much they think Trump deserves one too.

Everything Obama did must be either undone or surpassed by Trump. Even in cases where that’s clearly impossible, Trumpistas must be seen to exhibit their total dedication to this cause.

As soon as you wrote that, you realized what a silly thing you said, amirite?
