Now if only they had the balls to stand up to the Cheeto in Chief.
King made the biggest mistake a Republican politician can make; he said the quiet part loud.
Given that he’s a Pubbie in a Democratic HoR, he wasn’t going to chair anything anyway, but does that pull quote from McCarthy suggest that he won’t be on any committees at ALL?
Yes.
“If you don’t know why white supremacy is offensive, find another line of work. If you don’t know why Southern Strategy is offensive, hey, it’s a big tent!”
Funny how the states that are, you know, actually on the border, don’t seem quite as motivated. I guess they don’t feel like answering to the voters who would actually lose land to and have to live with the eyesore vanity project.
I don’t think there was strategy involved, but sometimes strategy can occur serendipitously. The Republicans may have moved from one of their base’s rallying cry (the wall), and into another, which is going after government employees. A good 60-70% of the country is against the strategy but once it ends, many will probably the degree of psychopathy involved in targeting middle class wage earners and using them as pawns - people in this country have short memories, unfortunately.
That’s what I keep coming back to: nothing is going to change unless something so bad happens that it forces people to reevaluate their value system. It’s easy to say “Let’s go bomb the shit out of some foreign country,” but societies that have been destroyed by war tend not to think in that fashion. It’s easy to say “Screw the homeless and the poor” but when it’s their home that’s getting padlocked, homeless suddenly becomes a more personal matter. People naturally have less empathy for people when they’ve never lived their experience.
It’s inevitable: Trumpism will end when they’ve inflicted enough damage on the average person that the average person decides they’ve had enough of “I’m with stupid.”
Hey now, Montana’s a border state. Maybe they’re getting tired of the constant invasions of Canadians fed up with the oppressive conditions in their shithole country.
Well, it is the border where the most terrorists are detained, so building a wall there does make more sense.
House floor erupts after lawmaker shouts ‘Go back to Puerto Rico’
I would tell the GOP to ‘stay classy’, but that would imply that there is some semblance of class in the party. I assume there is, but the lack of evidence thereof leaves one to wonder.
Accidental truth in advertising from Tucker Carlson.
(Chyron appearing below Carlson’s constipated face reading “WHAT DOES RACISM LOOK LIKE?”)
Running down to the border and jumping up and down in the hopes y’all will break off and float away is not an invasion!
Go ahead, keep giving us shit! We’ll just raise your rent!
Cute. Nice government. Shame something happened to it.
We got rich. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
What you mean, “we”?
A measly…a measly 8 million.
If my math is correct, and it probably isn’t, that is just .01142857142 of the increase to 5.7 Billion from the original 5 Billion estimate that is, of course, off by about 15 Billion?
Way to step up, Montana.
Wait, what border is Montana on?
Canadia?
