Fiveyearlurker:
The House Intelligence committee is poised to finally start doing its job by handing out subpoenas and getting information over to the Mueller probe. But, they can’t do so because the Republicans are purposely not naming any members of their party to the committee , thus making the committee unable to act (in the interest of the United States). The have named the members of all of the other committees already, just not this one.
OK, today is Friday of next week. Have the Republicans named members yet? Anyone know of a good source for keeping tabs on this?

They did either Wednesday or yesterday, I forget which. The first meeting won’t happen until Monday or Tuesday, though. The members named were nearly identical to the ones who’d served before (less four, because of the change in majority), and there’s some speculation the delay was intended to hobble Mueller’s investigation for as long as possible, possibly in the hope that if/when Barr is appointed AG he can shut it down before Mueller can make effective use of the information Schiff plans to send over.
By providing russian oligarchs with giant govt contracts with no oversight or accountability, letting them take all the kickbacks they want.

New QAnon conspiracy theory: Justice Ginsburg is either dead, or on the verge of death, and the Democrats are hiding it to keep Individual 1 from appointing a new justice.

The Bathroom Police are at it again.
It was Friday, Nov. 27, and Michael, a sophomore at Liberty High School in Clarksburg, West Virginia, was preparing to depart for an after-school marching band trip. Their destination was 45 minutes away, so Michael decided to use the restroom one last time before boarding the bus.
Michael had gotten into the habit at school of checking to make sure no one was in the boys bathroom before using it. He’s not legally required to do so ― but he said he had wanted to avoid the potential for any confrontation.
Once he determined the boys room was empty that day, Michael went into a stall. Moments later, Lee Livengood, one of two assistant principals at the school, allegedly entered the bathroom and began questioning why Michael was using it…
Livengood then allegedly challenged Michael to “come out here and use the urinal” if he’s really a boy. Michael explained he was assigned female at birth but identified as a male…
Livengood allegedly bullied Michael in the bathroom for three to four minutes before letting him leave. The chaperone was waiting outside the restroom as the teen drummer emerged, crying uncontrollably…
“I wasn’t trying to be rude or anything,” Livengood allegedly said. “I’m not going to lie, you freak me out.”
You see, we have to force children to expose their genitals to adult authority figures, so we can make sure nobody gets preyed upon while they’re just trying to pee.
Trump Admin Says It’s Too Hard To Reunite Thousands Of Separated Families: Court Filing
On Friday, officials from the Trump administration said it would require too much effort to reunite the thousands of families it separated before implementing its “zero-tolerance” policy in April, according to a declaration filed as part of an ongoing lawsuit between the American Civil Liberties Union and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Last month, the inspector general of the Department of Health and Human Services released a report stating that “thousands” more immigrant families had been separated than the government had previously disclosed. In the declaration submitted Friday, HHS officials said they don’t know the exact number of children who were taken from their parents before “zero tolerance” and that finding them would be too much of a “burden” since there was no formal tracking system in place.
“The Trump administration’s response is a shocking concession that it can’t easily find thousands of children it ripped from parents and doesn’t even think it’s worth the time to locate each of them,” said Lee Gelernt, the lead lawyer in the ACLU’s ongoing lawsuit against ICE, in a statement. “The administration also doesn’t dispute that separations are ongoing in significant numbers.”
HHS did not respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.
The deputy director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement, Jallyn Sualog, said that 100 ORR analysts would have to work eight hours each day for between seven and 15 months to “even begin reconciling” data on separated families. “In my judgment, ORR does not have the requisite staff for such a project,” Sualog wrote in the declaration.
Immigration advocates are appalled by the fact that the government didn’t bother to properly track separated families and that it is now shirking its responsibility to reunite parents and children.

Jesus. Wept.
I am ashamed at being even tangentially a part of this by virtue of being an American citizen. This is evil.
I took to the streets 4 times last year. I voted. I wrote letters and made phone calls. It looks like I’ll have to make more of an effort this year; I clearly didn’t do enough.
This situation cannot continue.

That’s the problem, you took to the streets 4 times, but you only voted once.
What do you think Soros is paying you the big bucks for?
Where are the leg shackles? ICE is clearly coddling these law-breaking babies.
Children are more affected from having their heads slammed in the doorframe. Once you do that, they’re pretty docile.

Plus the seats are facing the front, so in the event of an accident (or even a sudden stop) their heads will be thrown forward. Concussions can make great docility-inducers.
It occurs to me that this would be a good time for armies of lawyers and law students to head to Mexico and gather groups of parents into a shitload of class action suits to be filed against anyone and everyone (they know who they are) who separated these kids from their parents without establishing any procedure for keeping track of them so they could be reunited with their parents.
We blast other countries for human rights abuses… <sigh> this is beyond belief.
Really? That does not sound like something they’re saying about kids adopted or fostered by responsible adults. I wonder how many of those kids were killed & dumped, or have been so abused that it would be terrifically embarrassing to reveal.
