Stupid Republican idea of the day

Well, he lived mostly in the desert and they didn’t have sunscreen back then. It’s probably just a deep tan, such as any Christian might acquire in, say, Florida in the summertime.

I got that at least tied: An Army recruiting ad showing a black guy noodling with something technical – it mentioned the education benefits. No address, though.

You mean like a very devout, pious Christian might obtain in his journey to return creation to greatness and bang pornstars?

You read my filthy mind.

Maybe not the Democrats per se, but in mid '41 Frankie cut off the flow of American oil to Japan. That was regarded as a hostile act, which eventually led to the attack on Honolulu that got the US into the war.

Meanwhile, there was a fairly strong America First Committee movement that was adamantly opposed to anything that was not absolute neutrality. It was Europe’s problem, we should just leave them to it. And that group was not all Republicans – JFK was a member was one of its later-famous members.

One has to ask what would have happened had the US stayed out of the war. I find it hard to imagine a way that works out to a net positive. If the Democrats got us into WWII, as a nominal pacifist, I would say they deserve our gratitude for that.

What’s the difference between a KKK hood and a MAGA hat? The KKK hood is made in America.

And World War I, despite Wilson’s attempts to keep us out of war.

Now, I’m not a US citizen, so I’m not sure that the House Committee on Oversight and Reform is a reliable source, but apparently some people high up in your government are trying to illegally sell nuclear technology to, of all places, Saudi Arabia.

I think you are over thinking it. Hitler was a True Conservative, and Antifas are a bunch of liberals. And, yanno how liberals are to blame for every problem, ever? There ya go.

I guess the article reminded me that there are still yahoos febrile enough to entertain the fantasy of Klansmen riding horses through DC, lynching Democrats left and right until taxes go down in Alabama. Good luck and whatever you do, don’t introduce any math or debate points into your tax policy discussions!

We’re just having a conversation about this in the How Has President Trump Pissed You Off Today? thread. I invite you to join us.

The right wing “news” site TruNews (known recently for claiming that Tom Brady has been bewitched) is calling for McCabe and Rosenstein to be water boarded and for Rosenstein to be executed in the electric chair.
Right-Wing News Outlet Calls for McCabe, Rosenstein to Be Waterboarded?

Good one. (And utterly factual.)

Whatever sympathy I had for this little cunt - and it wasn’t much - is gone.

Looks like he went straight to the martyr card.

Fuck him, and fuck conservatives.

This is the problem with multiple threads. The same topic gets posted in each by a breathlessly enthusiastic poster thinking they are first with the news…

Pointless lawsuit. If he gets anything, here’s hoping it’s the smirk fine.

I know. I struggle with this, too. Have even been guilty of posting the same story in the same thread – and that’s even worse! Don’t know what can be done, though.

When there is so much news, continually spewing out, it’s hard to keep up and know if one of the many items of the day has been posted yet.

it’s amusing to think the little MAGAt thinks his totally ruined life is worth $250-million; 250-cents is more like it. Here’s hoping he discovers what the Streisand effect is all about. “Oh, yeah. You’re that smirky kid at the Lincoln Memorial, aren’t 'cha.” <drop job application in the trash>

I don’t have that problem. Because I have twenty tabs, with all the political threads from GD, Elections and the Pit open at once.

And I just keep them open (for months) and cycle through them, refreshing each one.

I don’t mind seeing a news item posted all over the Dope, if it’s newsworthy. Or a truly “Stupid Republican Idea of the Day”.

The only downside? I end up getting nothing else done. I just don’t have the discipline to wait, and I’m refreshing ten times a day…

I subscribe to the threads I’m following (under "thread tools’). When there are new posts in any of those threads, they show up clearly. Very easy to keep up. If stuff gets posted in several places, that’s good, because more people will see it.
