Nitpick: she was appointed to fill the remainder of Jon Kyl’s term after his resignation, not McCain’s. Anyway, one would think that if there is genuinely a National Emergency at the border, she would be happy to suspend construction on other Arizona military projects to take care of it.
For what it’s worth, the bill has no chance whatsoever of passing. Montanans are pretty conservative in some ways, but the environment is not one of them. There are regions that lean heavily on the fossil-fuel industry (presumably, this idiot represents one of them), but they’re outnumbered by the regions that depend on healthy wilderness.
