How much more “pro-life” can you get?
John Kerry testified before a House committee investigating climate change, and Congressman Thomas Massie commented that, since Kerry’s degree is in Political Science, he really doesn’t have a degree in science, so it’s appropriate that somebody with a degree in a pseudoscience would be pushing pseudoscience.
He wrestled that pig of a joke into submission and made it squeal. He probably practiced that burn in the mirror all morning before mumbling it out, fucking it up, and then getting his ass handed back to him by an adult in the room.
Kerry: Are you serious? I mean, this is really … happening here?
also:
Kerry: Mr. Chairman, this is just not a serious conversation.
Good on Kerry for pointing out the obvious.
And you would be correct. There’s some kind of tenuous reasoning in the suit for filing in Virginia (I can’t remember what it was right now, and Nunes isn’t worth the effort to look it up), but every opinion I’ve heard or read says that it’s incredibly thin, and that even without California’s anti-SLAAP provisions, Nunes might still be on the hook for opponent’s legal costs, given how ridiculous this lawsuit is.
The Republican party is filled with fucking morons! I am shocked when I watch things like this. Next they’ll be saying the solution to climate change is to have more babies. :smack: And dumbshits from Utah will think it’s the best idea, like ever!
*Republicans on the House Oversight Committee sent letters to a dozen CEOs of major drug companies warning that information they provide to the committee could be leaked to the public by Democratic chair Elijah Cummings in an effort to tank their stock prices.
Cummings requested information from 12 drug companies … in January as part of a broad investigation into how the industry sets prescription drug prices.
(House Freedom Caucus members) write that Cummings is seeking sensitive information “that would likely harm the competitiveness of your company if disclosed publicly.” They then accuse Cummings of “releasing cherry-picked excerpts from a highly sensitive closed-door interview” conducted in an investigation into White House security clearances. “This is not the first time he has released sensitive information unilaterally,” says the letter. The authors say they “feel obliged to alert” the drug companies of Cummings’ actions.*
Current contender for the title of “Dumb as Louie Gohmert,” Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, has introduced the PENCIL Resolution, which calls for Rep. Adam Schiff to be removed as Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, and to revoke his security clearances. From the linked article:
Please note the title of the resolution, clearly a reference to one of Trump’s favorite nicknames for Rep. Schiff.
Massie has 2 degrees from MIT, and I see his line of questioning more troll-like than moronic (though there is undoubtedly some overlap there).
Two engineering degrees from MIT are enough to explain his seeing Poli Sci as “pseudo”. Also to explain his being a dick.
Good grief. His publicly stating political science is “pseudo science” should be enough for MIT to revoke any degrees they’ve conferred on him.
Because I just seem to like going around and finding things that make me despair for the human race and then share them to depress everyone else, here’s a sad little article about Fox News Derangement Syndrome:
Meh. It’s the cross everybody in social sciences bear. “It’s not real science !”, the engineers and biochems tell us. “Oh honey, what you do isn’t *really *science either, bless your heart”, counters the physicist. Meanwhile the mathematician quietly chuckles at the antics of all these idiot non-scientists.
Massie says he’s an engineer, but no one has ever seen him drive a train.
Semi-obligatory BBT quote:
For my dad it was Rush Limbaugh.
The Wizard of Oz to Scarecrow: “I can’t give you any brains but I can give you a diploma.”
Math isn’t science. Math is a language.
As always, there’s an XKCD for that.
Holy Mary mother of Christ! Republicans are barely even hiding the fact that they have pure and utter contempt for democracy these days:
