Stupid Republican idea of the day

:smack:

Of course: Muslim law bad; Christian law good. It’s so obvious! How did I miss it?

:rolleyes:

Maybe if she wore a burka, he could be trusted to keep it in his pants.

On the other hand, it’s good of him to let everyone know that he can’t be trusted to control himself around women who aren’t his wife. (And really, given the Evangelical Christian directive that wives must submit to their husbands, there’s no guarantee that he controls himself in her presence either.)

Along with his drinking problem. Why else would he need his wife there to make sure he doesn’t drink too much?
What ever happened to praying for strength/giving your problems to God?

That is a sign of weakness. Men are never supposed to show signs of weakness.

I’m just waiting for the “Wide stance in rest room stall” revelation.

Should we start a betting pool? (Let’s call it the “Too Hetero to Not be Homo” pool)
And do we include Pence as well?

The National Republican Committee is running an ad attacking Colin Kaepernick. They darkened his skin in the ad.

We’ll, that tears it. Kaepernick’s lost my vote!

:smiley:

I think you may be on to something there.

Who is going to take the ‘not’ side of that bet? I want to meet them, for the purposes of selling them collectibles that are certain to go up in value.

Now that Paul Ryan is out of office, he’s writing a book criticizing Individual 1. Little weasel.

Governor Bill Lee signs proclamation for ‘Nathan Bedford Forrest Day’ to be observed in Tennessee.

Nathan Bedford Forrest is, of course, a former Grand Wizard of the KKK.

It gets better. Via Twitter;

[QUOTE=Ted Cruz]
This is WRONG. Nathan Bedford Forrest was a Confederate general & a delegate to the 1868 Democratic Convention. He was also a slave trader & the 1st Grand Wizard of the KKK. Tennessee should not have an official day (tomorrow) honoring him. Change the law.

When you’ve become too much of a radical Republican for Ted fucking Cruz, you done fucked up.

As I understand it, things are a bit more complex than that, with Bedford Forrest renouncing the Klan and helping to prosecute whites who used violence against blacks (not that I believe for a minute that the N.B.F. supporters in Tennessee recognize that part).

At least now there is a venue for Confederate Railroad.

Conversely, if Ted Fucking Cruz is opposed to what you’re doing, you may be doing something right.

I wonder why he felt the need to throw in “a delegate to the 1868 Democratic Convention.” I mean, it wasn’t necessary to make his point and not a well-known fact. But, surely, there was no ulterior motive there.

^Exactly. Never assume Ted fucking Cruz is taking the high road.

I think Ted fucking Cruz is mainly upset that Tennessee is honoring a Democrat.

Someone somewhere said: “Fundamentalist Christianity and Fundamentalist Islam aren’t in opposition, they’re in competition.”
