Stupid Republican idea of the day

We finally found some of the voter fraud the Republicans keep going on about. Of course it’s a Republican being convicted. But see see voter fraud right there!

So, nobody here mentioned the GOP’s tantrums over the Clint Eastwood/Detroit Superbowl ad?

I’ll be interested to see if my buddy - a staunch right wing republican - will change his tune with the marching orders.

I didn’t catch the commercial, but my buddy had texted me saying, and I quote, “I think I just went gay for Clint Eastwood.”

I don’t know what this is, but it can’t be voter fraud: there’s not a single mention of ACORN.

The end of that article is brilliant:

Ahhh, The Onion. The eternal bane of the GOP politician. It is like a mongoose fighting to an exhusted death with a length of rubber hose that looks kinda snake-like.

To quote Mr. Eastwood himself on the kerfuffle:

But you know what? Republicans are NOT OK with job growth and a positive spirit for the country. In this election cycle, they are about pessimism and trying to prevent job growth.

In their books, working towards a positive outcome for the economy is an anathema. The ONLY goal is to eliminate Obama from the Whitehouse, and if hundreds of thousands or millions have to suffer for that lofty goal, so be it.

Santorum and Gingrich dismiss climate change as a hoax, and vow to dismantle the EPA if elected.

Today is a good day for this kind of thing.

“Judicial activism” again, this time from Gingrich and Romney, over Prop 8 being stricken down:

Yeah, I saw this. The fact that he said this at my alma mater pissed me off so much that I was incapable of posting… Fucker. I just cannot take the anti-science stance of the GOP, everything else is fine, but the anti-science thing enrages me.

Oh, and when I say fine, I mean I still disagree with it, but it doesn’t upset me.

Y’know, I do have to sort of admire Gingrich’s chutzpah, if anything. I mean, a Presidential candidate who says he’ll just abolish any courts that issue rulings he doesn’t agree with … that’s out there, man!

And maybe Romney should just let the American people vote on every decision anybody in government ever makes. Hey, it’s the will of the people! They know better than all these non-elected judges and stuff, who just study, you know, laws and the Constitution and rights and all that useless garbage …

Was it at the Colorado School of Mines? I was so disappointed when I found out that it wasn’t a college for Minecraft.

Yeah, when I started there I thought it was the Colorado School of Minds.

To paraphrase Molly Ivens, Texas politicians are a gift that just keep on giving…

Someone in the comments section of one of these articles claimed that a Republican congress person or representative tried to ban animal husbandry. I’m having trouble finding a cite, though… does anyone know about this?

I almost hope it’s true, just so I can point and laugh.

:googles:

I found this: could that be the reference? It’s a little out dated (and possibly mentioned earlier in this behemoth of a thread), but still hilarious… banning sex! Santorum wishes it was his idea!
ETA: And from the comments there, I found this. That must be it.

Well, if they want to drive out job creators like Dr. Samuel Gall and lose out on innovative inventions like the gall bladder, that’s their problem.

Every time I think I’m proving anything by going to law school, I remember Louie Gohmert, the stupidest human being alive… JD, Baylor (1977).

Where is it on the list of favorite organs these days? I let my subscription lapse.

Baylor had a law school? The one in Waco, they had a law school? Doth thou shitteth me, as the Amish say?
