Stupid Republican idea of the day

Reading the article, I don’t think it was completely CYA. He repeatedly said “you’re asking me to say something is true when it clearly is not”. Despite the superficially polite and noncommittal tone, the weight of the number of objections carries a clear subtext of “What the heck, man? I’m not going to do something that is so beyond the pale.”

“They’re trying to steal another election”… with votes!

I believe we’re in agreement. What I meant by CYA (and I may have misused the term) was “have a legal defense when the [DEL]Politburo[/DEL] Central Committee files a lawsuit seeking to penalize me for refusing to falsify the actual results.”

The second part of my post — that the GOP may be field-testing a possible tactic for November — stands.

At this point it wouldn’t surprise me if they tried to assert that a vote for a Democrat only counts for 3/5 as much as a vote for a Republican.

And take it down another 1/5 if it’s cast by a person of color or someone with a Hispanic or Asian-sounding first or last name.

IIRC, Colorado is one of the vote-by-mail states, where in-person voting is essentially non-existent. It is all mail-in/drop-off voting. Which is so, you know, unfair, because there are hard-copy election records and election officials cannot rig touch-screen voting machines to return the desired results. Stiver was cheated out of fair votes due to accurate counting.

Gym Jordan says there will be show trial charges brought against Obama by November.

And Individual 1 tweeted, “OBAMAGATE!”
…ump: Katie, she tested very good for a long period of time and then all of the sudden today she tested positive… This is why the whole concept of tests aren’t necessarily great
Stop the testing! We might not get the results we want!

I’m still wondering if there’s going to be some sort of punishment for Trump’s valet for daring to get sick while under Trump’s employ… because that seems to be the sort of thing Trump would do.

Let’s work this out:[ul]
[li]AS Democrats were the pre-Civil War Party of Slavery™;[/li][li]AND AS Slaves counted as three-fifths of a free person for legislative representation and taxing purposes;[/li][li]THEREFORE Contemporary Democrats should be punished in a commensurate manner.[/li][/ul]See? It makes perfect sense, provided you can twist your brain into a Möbius strip. It also takes care of that pesky “reparations” issue: since we’re punishing present-day Democrats for what the party did to their ancestors, there’s no need to shell out money to the descendants of slaves. Win-win!

In this administration, that’s the default.

Five 'll get you ten they’re discussing this at Heritage Foundation headquarters right now.

People, people, first we need to establish that the current administration and its supporters have any brains to begin with. Evidence points to ‘no.’

The Genesis II Church, in a court filing, is claiming that their right to tell people to drink bleach is a holy rite.

Isn’t Wonkette a satire site like The Onion?

ETA: Seems to be partly true, at least.

To my knowledge, Wonkette isn’t a satire site. It is unabashedly liberal and often over the top in its rhetoric, so it could certainly be mistaken for one at times.

No, it’s a left wing news/political site, with an affection for dick jokes.

Stephen Robinson, Evan Hurst, and Robyn Pennacchia are national treasures, and the rest of the staff isn’t far behind.

Thanks! I’ll have to give them a closer look. (I mean, you had me at dick jokes.)

That’s if they run out of Kool-aid, or what?

Most recent Wonkette headline: Everybody Hates Bill Barr and His Stupid Sh*t-Mouthed Face.

Now there’s some journalism I can get behind.
