Stupid Republican idea of the day

For crying out loud. Hell yeah the public education system is an artifact of the Industrial Revolution, because before the Industrial Revolution we had…mass illiteracy. Illiterate kings were not unheard of. Little neighborhood schools did exist here and there, for those kids whose parents could pay, but a large component of this historical home schooling Santorum is so fond of consisted of not learning to read and write.

Santorum’s belief that each and every American can easily-peasily home-school their children is maddening on many levels, especially from an economic viewpoint. But here’s my three personal favorite hypocrisies:
[ol]
[li]Santorum’s children were at least partially educated through the online Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School. A public school.[/li]
[li]Santorum and his wife are both highly educated. Giving one’s child the best possible education via home-school might, just might, be more obtainable for folks with advanced degrees, than for parents who themselves struggled just to get through high school. In other words, screw you kid, if your mom is dyslexic.[/li]
[li]Rick Santorum attended public school all but his senior year of high school, and went on to get his bachelors from Penn State (state school), his MBA from Pitt (state school), and his law degree from Dickinson (state school). So what he’s saying here is keep your kids away from public schools, or they will turn out just like Rick Santorum.[/li][/ol]

Okay, so that last one is pretty compelling.

Tea Party standout Rep. Allen West (of fame for saying that Goebbels would be proud of Democrats) blames Obama because his gas-guzzling car guzzles gas: “Here is the bottom line, last night it took 70 dollars to fill the tank of my 2008 H3 Hummer, what is it costing you?”

Usually when Republicans are blaming Democrats because they bought hummers it’s the ones from the rentboys on the internets.

The 2008 H3 qualified for the Cash-for-Clunkers program. I know it’s not funny to connect the dots for a joke, but Obama actually handed 2008 H3 owners a solution in 2009.

Really.

Maybe I’ve found OMG a Black Conservative!

Okay, not really. It’s just a black pastor who says homosexuality makes God want to vomit.

Then there’s something bad about Mormons.

And God hates socialism.

I’m glad someone can speak for God.

Can God make a meatball-and-swiss sandwich so big that he cannot puke it back up once he’s eaten it?

You know, the Rev. O’Neal Dozier should be consulted about this pressing question.

And then perhaps he can address this question raised by an Alaskan man:

You know, the Republicans are pumping out some high-quality crazy lately. I’m so… proud.

Rep. John Sullivan (R-OK) might be able to get votes to go his way in the Senate if he killed some people:

I can’t say that this is truly a Republican idea. I mean, one can assume, but let’s file this under “Stupid State ideas of the day”

Seven states sue government over contraceptives mandate

Yes, not content to walk away after doubling down, they’re now quadrupling down on the birth control debate.

Hey, at least they invited a woman to the party this time. Those sausagefests were becoming a real downer.

Are any of those states one of the 27 (IIRC) that have that mandate separately? Because that would be golden.

Wait a minute… is the problem with Obama’s mulattoeness that the 14th Amendment was only ‘purportedly’ ratified, or because it doesn’t specifically mention mulattoes? Either way…

*vaaaat a county! * [/slavic accent]

While I am disgusted by this gentleman’s opinions, I am willing to forgive him a lot for bringing back Kid 'n Play hair.

Pam Biondi was formerly known as “the hottest state attorney general” and is now pretty much known as the one who always gets sent to CNN to defend the Obamacare lawsuit. And yes, she’s a Republican.

Michigan and Texas are, though Texas has an employer “conscience clause” and Michigan has a “broad opt-out provision”.

…because dude from Alaska is a crazy person.

http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/Michael-Berry-offers-to-pay-for-damages-in-3356895.php

Aww, compassionate conservativism at its finest- Barry has offered to pay for the car damage whether he caused it or not. When the guy whose car was hit, Tuderia Bennett, came out of the police station yesterday, someone was waiting by his car with a letter and a check (and how creepy is that?).

“Mr. Berry made it known to HPD that if they were of the opinion that he caused damage to your car, Mr. Berry wanted to make it right with you,” reads a letter from Dick DeGuerin.

“We are prepared to pay whatever your actual damages are and we will do so immediately, whether Mr. Berry is found at fault or not.”"

I think because citizenship via the 14th amendment isn’t ‘natural-born.’

But I think he doesn’t spell that out in the complaint because he wants the judge to connect the dots. That way he’s not racist.

I hope her response is: “Have Mr. Berry take it up with my insurance company. And if he prefers to bypass his own insurance company, my lawyer will be contacting him to discuss the matter of my deductible.”

Did you guys hear about the Virginia state senator ® who was bitching that his wife won’t give him any because of the invasive ultrasound shit?

How can you mention that without linking the hilarious video?

Lazy, and easily
