This is the same legislature that revoked its state’s child labor law last year.
The only question will be how many other Republican controlled states will attempt the same approach. If a couple are seen, we’ll know this was another product of an ALEC workshop.
Sen. Scott Brown: Whole Foods policy hurts fishermen
“US Sen. Scott Brown is asking Whole Foods to reconsider a decision to no longer sell seafood that it doesn’t consider sustainable.
In a letter to Whole Foods co-CEOs John Mackey and Walter Robb, Brown said Monday he was concerned the decision has more to do with political correctness than sound reasoning.
The Massachusetts Republican questioned what he called “uncertain science,” and said the decision will hurt Massachusetts fishermen.”
“uncertain science” you asshole. Is this the same “uncertain science” as in evolution? Same as in climate change? Taking your talking points from Faux News are you?
Yes it will damage the fishing industry short term if catches are restricted to rebuild fish populations. This is as opposed to wiping out the fishing industry by permanently decimating the fish stocks. Fish baby, fish!
Political, what, Whole Foods, sounds Libuurrral, socialist with their job killing agenda? Making sound ethical and financial decisions is outside the realm of GOP politicians. Long term outlooks - not for republicans. I want my stuff now. We may not last another 6000 years.
Modern conservatives do not conserve.
is not coming from this m-f:

The suicide, you see, is not because of the bullying, let’s not criminalize that, it’s because the dead kids in question did not have the proper morals instilled at home by their parents.
Ann Romney: “I love the fact that there are women out there who don’t have a choice and they must go to work and they still have to raise the kids. Thank goodness that we value those people too. And sometimes life isn’t easy for any of us.”
God bless her, she’s just as tone-deaf as her husband.
You left out “she means well.”
We are so lucky as a nation that so many women are trapped on a treadmill between work and child rearing. If they weren’t, they’d be out making trouble that us men would have clean up.
Bless her heart.
- and by “any of us”, I mean of course, you people.
You people don’t understand how hard it can be to raise 5 children when you have a staff of domestics to help.
I will give her credit that they did have five boys, and their sanity is still (reasonably) intact.
Yeah, but the domestics have their own wing in the local sanatarium…

I’m certainly not trying to defend the stupid Republican, but CBS News does no good with its bullshit editing:
How does “proponents of legalized abortion” transmute to the “left” in the headline? :dubious:
Further down:
If roses are red and roses are flowers, are flowers red?
Does anyone disagree that the CBS News headline was an egregious mischaracterization?
Yes, I disagree. If he said “proponents of abortion…” and made clear in the same interview that HE thinks this equates to the left, the headline is completely acceptable. If it turns out the reporter was mischaracterizing his statements, then the whole article and the headline is suspect.
Not necessarily. The “proponents” language isn’t part of the quote, so it’s not clear which he actually said.
A report on other parts of Bryant’s remarks leaves no doubt.
And let’s face it, it would be pretty stupid of Bryant even to say specifically about proponents of abortion rights, as opposed to “Democrats” or “liberals” or “the left” in general, that their ONE “mission in life” is to promote abortions. Very few people are really that single-issue.
Anyway, the headline as it stands was accurate.
