Stupid Republican idea of the day

Whatever universities, colleges, and high schools he attended should also be pitted.

Not sure stupid has anything to do with Landry’s ravings.

We’ve been giving a lot of Republicans the benefit of the doubt in terms of ethics, by assuming they actually believe at least some of the ridiculous crap they spew about Obama being a Muslim and what-not. But I’m starting to wonder if at least some of them don’t know perfectly well it’s crap and simply don’t care as long as they can get Republican voters to believe it.

It is now illegal in Louisiana to pass laws that set minimum numbers of paid sick days for employees.

Oh My G-d, it might force competition and higher wages! Oh Noes! How will the Free Market ever survive??

Sounds awfully democratic to me!

Of course my community has just qualified to become certified as a Blue Zone Community to help improve the health and life expectancy of all citizens.

Well I’ll be darned, putting people ahead of business/money. What a concept!

These backwardass Republicans and their idiotic dollars-are-the-only-thing-that-matters-even-if-I’m-too-goddamn-stupid-to-realize-that-the-other-way-is-actually-more-fiscally-sound policies are killing this country town by town and state by state. It’s absolutely maddening. And fucking offensive.

It’s illegal to pass a law to benefit the health of your citizens. My ass. That’s just bullshit.

And make no mistake, it’s coming to a state near you. You may not be surprised to know that shitstain Walker has already passes this law in Wisconsin. I’d feel sorry for Wisconsin but they voted to keep the cockroach so they get what they deserve.

They don’t call it Wississippi for nothing.

  • Virginia Lawmaker Says ‘Sea Level Rise’ Is A ‘Left Wing Term,’ Excises It From State Report On Coastal Flooding

Same for global warming and climate change. They are “left wing terms” that shan’t be used.

Sometimes reality bites. In this case, the shoreline of Virginia is flooding more these days than it used to.

…and Stolle represents Virginia Beach. Were I his opponent at the next election, I’d be hitting him over the head with this: “Yes, we’ve seen an increasing level of flooding over the past few years but it’s okay! Chris Stolle says it’s not really happening and that it’s just a left-wing conspiracy to make you think the sea level is rising! So don’t worry - your beachfront property values are perfectly safe as long as Stolle says they are.”

North Dakota to vote on abolishing property taxes.

Of course they’ve thought this all through and have a plan for using their oil gains to pay for school and government. . .

Or not.

This paragraph has me scratching my head:

So either you are against it or oppose it? Huh?

North Carolina State Senate GOPers, not to be outdone by their Virginia collegues, passed a law requiring state planning to assume only eight inches of rise in sea level before 2100, rather than the 39 inches predicted by scientists.

“No senators spoke in opposition?”

Kinda makes you wonder where those eleven “no”-voting guys’ heads were at.

They had the right to remain silent, and the prudence to take advantage of it.

Wow, literally trying to hold back the tide.

Well if the ocean rises by more than the stipulated eight inches I’m sure it will be subject to deep fines and penalties. Next maybe they can repeal the law of gravity and we can finally get the flying cars we were promised back in the 50’s.

"I’m only trying to say that North Carolina is a summer state. We need summer dollars. Now, if the people can’t swim here, they’ll be glad to swim at the beaches of Cape Cod, the Hamptons, Long Island… "

Duuummbb dumb … duuuummmbb dumb… dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb

DUMB!

There’s libruls standin’ between me and my flying car?!

Burn them!

I think they’re including farmers and unions in the “political and business community”.

Who are against it. As opposed to the politicians who oppose it. Still doesn’t make sense to me.

Politicians, by the nature of their jobs, can oppose something without being against it.

By law, the property tax division may not factor the seawater above your property into its estimation of your bill…

I think they are saying everybody is against it (it apparently lost by a 3-1 margin). Which leads one to wonder how it got on the ballot in the first place, of course.

And Google says signatures of 2% of the population to get on the ballot.
