Stupid Republican idea of the day

Nonsense - it means that your beachfront property is even more beach-fronty, which means we get to double your property taxes. Win win!!

But they must be pro-rated by the amount of time the ‘beach’ part of the beachfront is accessible–lose!

Also, the Frogurt is cursed.

I believe the second sentence is meant to provide detail for the first sentence not to contrast it.

Why do so many 'Pubs think that cutting off unemployment benefits is going to make people “get serious” about finding work? Aren’t most of them pretty serious already?

For the same reason some conservatives think people choose to be poor, because it is such a sweet life.

And the same reason they think people choose to be gay, so they can get all the awesome benefits and love from their fellow citizens.

By the same token, being rich must really suck. They keep insisting that we lower their taxes and provide other incentives to encourage them to make millions.

I forgot that one. “Cut our taxes, or life just won’t be worth living”

If it reduced obesity and heart disease and strokes correspondingly decreased, it’d be worth it. Advertising regulation (clearly marked nutritional information, stringent guidelines on crap) and taxation (increased taxation on indicted food, subsidise healthier food and gym equipment, remove subsidies on corn) are probably better ways to address the problem.

Well, this isn’t about a stupid Republican idea, just a stupid Republican – one who can’t spell ‘conservative’. Lest you think Nanette Billings, wife of Utah’s Washington County Republican Party Chairman Willie Billings, just made a typo, she settled my doubts by repeating her spelling of it – “conseritave” – twice in a very brief email. The email, by the way, was addressed to another Republican, Fred Karger (openly gay Republican presidential candidate), who she was trying mightily to trash but merely succeeded in revealing herself to be a grade school dropout. Washington Post story here.

She seems stymied by several issues related to literacy. Also, it is not clear whether she was commanding Karger not to procreate, or believes he is unable to procreate.

I thought that you couldn’t …

legislate morality

I think the general theme of the Republican Party is more along the lines of “it’s tyranny for the government to legislate my morality; it’s imperative for the government to do something about your immorality.”

Pay no attention to the Mitt from 2008, we have a brand spanking new Mitt we like now.

Well, if the whole shaving gays thing is any indication, he may just not remember what he thought in 2008.

Gotta love tepid endorsement. “It depends who his opponent is.” ? Why not just go ahead and say “Look, I loathe the guy as much as you, but it’s him or Obama so…whaddayagonnado ? shrug

Romney also moved his speech up to 1:30PM from 1:50PM to beat Obama’s planned time of 1:45PM.

Naturally, Romney events have been and will be protested as well. Let’s not get our noses out of joint when it happens.

And in the category of, “Shucks, They All Look The Same”, US News & World Report reports that the Republican National Committee’s site RNCLatinos.com uses a stock photo of Asian kids in its banner. Cite.

It’s very simple. If you give poor people money it makes them lazy but if you give rich people money it makes them work harder to create jobs.

Michigan GOP Congresscritters up in arms at the inflammatory language used by Democratic representative Lisa Brown in opposing a proposed abortion bill ! Said one State representative, “It was so offensive, I don’t even want to say it in front of women. I would not say that in mixed company.”
Following her gross and disgusting words, Rep. Brown would be barred from further participating in the debate.

I’m sorry, did I forget to mention the word in question ? Well, I’m not sure I can say this in mixed company, even in the Pit. I’ll put it in spoilers, just in case: vagina

Reported!!!
