Stupid Republican idea of the day

After reading the recent pitting of the VA governor, I’m curious how many Republicans would agree with: “Confederate history is something to celebrate”. (I think Abe Lincoln is curious too!) Obviously, VA Repubs are all for it. I wonder how the party as a whole skews. I’m betting even the western/northern Rs would be all for it as well.

So the proponents of the Senate Bill 1070 in Arizona (Proposed by racists and enforced by racists) just found out that almost all of that bill tossed away by the Supreme Court and still the Republican governor Brewer stupidly claimed victory early:

It clearly was grasping at straws as the devil was in the details of the only part that was “vindicated”:

I guess Brewer noticed that the “heart” that was left was mostly an artificial one. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, yes, you see, the problem is that the “heart of the bill” that was left was mostly useful for Arpaio and thugs only if all the illegals captured by police after other small violations could be arrested and deported, as I understand, Arizona can still arrest all of the ones captured under those conditions, but the final say on who to prosecute belongs to the Federal Government.

Mike Turzai, the Republican House Majority Leader in Pennsylvania, mentioning the real reason for voter ID laws:

It is my understanding that she attends some high level meetings with the President. Some of those meetings discuss policy and national security issues, something that I don’t believe is the role of the First Lady. I recall there being a flap over Hilary Clinton when she was First Lady and a similar situation. It doesn’t seem that this request is something new, if memory serves me correctly.

As with the Clinton’s, both were not elected to the office, only one of them.

Michele Obama is a Democrat.

The long form birth certificate released by the White House has been acknowledged by Obama attorneys as a forgery as charged. Sinaptecs, what was that about can’t fix stupid?

Aren’t you cute! This should be humorous for a few minutes.

Administration officials acknowledged that he tried to pass it off on Mitch McConnell.

It’s cute when the special needs students venture out onto the intrawebs for the first time.

You wanna rephrase that without the stupid? Or at least with something to support such an idiotic claim?

(Hint: The Fogbow already raped that truther twister game to death)

He was talking about you, probably.

Why is this mutt referred to as the “First Dog”? Is that because he gets first dibs on sniffing the pants cuffs of foreign diplomats during high-level negotiation meetings?
And what about those Portuguese Water Deals that began within a week of this breed having access to the doggie door of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave (the very state where Bo was bred. Coincidence?).

And when we alert the so-called “free” press to this breach of national security by breaking into Matt Lauer’s kitchen, he just tells us to sit. And stay. With no treat.

If Jesus Christ didn’t need a long form birth certificate, that’s good enough for me!

To be fair, this is the correct thread for this type of stupidity, so yay for you picking the right place to post! Normally we reserve it for the stupidity of politicians, but if you want to volunteer your comment as an example of SRIotD, who am I to argue.

Welcome to the SDMB, dwolfe0647. Funny how often newcomers say the oddest things that are guaranteed to get a rise.

Maybe we should change the thread title to “Comments on the Stupid Republican idea of the day”, so no one mistakes it as meaning “Stupid Republicans! Please give us a stupid idea that the rest of us can comment on.”

I’m beginning to wonder if Republicans honestly believe that anything negative said about a Democrat, whether it can be supported or not, is automatically the truth. After all, email-forwards are practically gospel to these people.

I’ve always wondered about this one. Do people like dwolfe not realize that they didn’t vote for anyone the POTUS interacts with on a daily basis? I suppose the Vice-President is an exception since he’s on the ballot along with the President, but it’s not like dwolfe had a say in any Cabinet position, the White House Chief of Staff, or any other presidential adviser.

Is there a reason the focus is on Michelle Obama rather than say Chief of Staff Jacob Lew who was also selected without any oversight from any other branch and wields far more power?

I’m pretty sure the White House has a chef so it can’t be fears about a sandwich shortage, can it?

Solely for dwolfe.

Any relation to Tom Wolfe?
