Wouldn’t not paying them for a “mandatory” event constitute a wage & hour issue?
Any employment lawyers around that might could speak to it?

Romney won’t lose the miners. They are all convinced Obama is after their jobs. And he kinda is with his green initiatives.

So it appears we finally have hard evidence that watching Fox News makes you batshit insane:
*"When Kappheim was approached by the arresting deputy, [Kappheim] said “he was very conservative and (his girlfriend) was a liberal.” [so] “he felt that he was going to have to kill her,” the report said. …
While inside of the woman’s apartment [that she shared with Kappheim], the deputy said he found documents that made him believe Kappheim is obsessed with Fox News and the Republican Party, and that he may be a danger to others."*
“You’re a liberal, so I’m going to have to kill you.” Yeah, pretty stupid idea, but rather unsurprising given Fox’s agenda. And the whole fucking network is a danger to others. Would that we could lock up all the perpetrators there.
To me the biggest stupidity demonstrated on the Eastwood affair is that on a night were everything was supposed to be under control, it was controlled by incompetents: it was indeed an uncontrolled and an unrehearsed speech!
Eric Cantor apparently thinks Labor Day is about business owners.
(This is about the most neutral link I could find on the first page of Google results.)
And Cantor didn’t get the talking pointabout the Medicare “cuts” Ryan proposed too.
Eric Cantor apparently thinks Labor Day is about business owners.
Maybe he has a point. Nearly all of the world’s major countries celebrate International Workers’ Day on May 1, but we’ve rejected their communistic “people are corporations too” philosophy here, thank you.

I can’t quite figure out if he did that on purpose or if he’s just a dumbass.
Is this for real? It appears to be an actual cover of the National Review portraying Romney and Ryan in the image of communist propaganda. I’m certain that I must be falling for some hoax, but my initial attempts haven’t confirmed this.
It emphasizes their whiteness and maleness, which are critically important qualities for their chance to defeat Obama.

I’m going with dumbass.

But their Stalin-ness too? Clearly it was copied from the other poster shown in the link, no?

This has GOT to be a joke cover. I can’t imagine the National Review being this stupid.
Oh wait…

Soviet art sensibility or not, both Romney and Ryan look like they live in Uncanny Valley. Cover fail.
Not a joke. It’s on the NR’s web site. (see upper right hand corner.)
Of course it is a joke – but one they don’t get.

Wow! Holy shit! Thanks for that.

It is sending a not-so-subliminal message that, “These strong white men will tell us what to do and destroy “defeatists” who get in the way.”
That NR cover is awesomely terrible. It’s not even a very good likeness of either of them. The image of Romney looks like an actor I can’t quite recall. I thought for a minute he looked like Mitch Ryan, who played Minnie Driver’s dad in Grosse Point Blank, but I don’t think that’s who I am thinking of. Gah! I know it is reminding me of someone! Anyway, whoever it looks like, it doesn’t look much like Romney.
Is this a real-life case of a disgruntled graphic artist slipping an embarassing image past his bosses? Taking your inspiration from Soviet-era propaganda to create a supposedly flattering image of a presidential candidate? It’s too dumb.
If you stare at them long enough, they look a little bit like Herman and Eddie Munster.
