No one of good sense and perception has accused the Representative from the Sahara Dessert slope of the Hawkeye State of being stupid. Malignant, insular, parochial, deceptive, willfully ignorant, malicious, short sighted, self-righteous, self-aggrandizing, immoral, petty, reckless and ruthless, maybe? That’s a whole other question. I had a friend in high school who had a D&C to remove a teratoma. Which is totally normal.

Maybe Akin heard about that kind of thing and scrambled it. I suppose an unscrupulous OB/GYN could prescribe a D&C for no good reason just for the billing, and I suppose in Todd Akin’s delusions, this could be a “common practice” to drive up health care costs. I can see how he might have gotten there.
