She’s giving him a reach-around but she’s unclear on the concept.
Do Republican leaders ever stop to think before making stupid remarks?
Case # 32,760: Newt Gingrich (R - Adulterer) says that the founding fathers would be “very severe critics” of President Obama.
Good point, Newt.
Especially the slaveholders, I’m guessing.

Isn’t it funny how people who bring up the Founding Fathers, Socialism, Jesus/the Bible, the Constitution and things like that are usually the most ignorant about all of those things? they’re just words to throw around, not meaningful concepts.
No, they’re symbols, and as the great philosopher Carlin often quipped : symbols are for the symbol minded.
Senator Graham (R-NC) say the House bill is DOA in the Senate.
I’m not claiming this is a stupid Republican idea. I’m sure there is a nuance here that I’m missing-- but doesn’t the Senate have their own bill? And the House bill can’t be DOA because it isn’t Aing in the Senate? Or is it that the Senate is taking the House bill and using it as their own?
This isn’t snarkiness but an actual question. Did School House Rock mislead me for all these years?
He’s attempting to shift the debate. Much like any thread involving Carol Stream of Piss, he’s trying to move the debate. In this case, people will think that the bill is near-death, so naturally when they work out the bills they’ll have to do something like “Reduce tax for working Americans” (ie. Billionaires) to “squeak it through” (ie. An abstention from Snowe).

Nitpick – Sen. Lindsey “It’s a Lie” Graham is from South Carolina. TTBOMK, what’s happening is that one house is accepting the amendments the other house tagged onto the bill, the ‘reconciliation’ phase of passing a law. I think it’s the Senate reviewing the House amendments, but I could be wrong on that.
In any case, let’s note that Graham is of the “any publicity is good publicity” school of thought, and that what he’s probably talking out of, most people use for sitting and excretion.
It is my understanding that we are not yet at the reconciliation part. The Senate has yet to vote on their version of the bill, so there aren’t any amendments to recomjigerate. Unless there is only one version of this bill that is being used by both the House and the Senate.
And, of course, it’s always possible that Graham is banking on what a complete and total pussy Reid is.
I know I still think he’ll find a way to be bullied out of it.
-Joe
Graham is making a pretty solid bet, then.
Sounds more like Pickens thinks HE deserves it because someone ELSE got hurt or killed.
:dubious:
The ‘You’ stood for “United States”. Do these people think about what they say? I can’t imagine “we deserve it because we took some damage stealing it” would wash with any more than half the 20% if that, it’s just that stupid.
All rebublican ideas are stupid.
Yes, but the best of them are also hilarious – so long as they don’t actually get enacted.
The House always has the edge.
I hear that Lindsey doesn’t have a whole lot of familiarity with pussies. Just saying…
Well, here’s a stupid idea I’d like to put out there early, cuz I’m sure it’s going to happen. When Crist is gearing up for his senate primary, he’ll get teabagged with the fag card.
-Joe
It’s already started in SC for Lindsey Graham. The “troo Amerikuns” are calling him horrible names, like “librul” for working with Sen. Kerry on the environmental legislation. Ironic, no? Teabaggers trying to oust Graham!
Cousin Lemuel here, 'lucs out trying to get the dog to sober up, been chasing imaginary squirrels and just treed a Prius but…you sure you haven’t confused eye-ronic with mo-ronic?
I always thought that teabagging was to dunk one’s scrotum on another person.
Turns out that I was right.
