Stupid Republican idea of the day

Oopsey. My bad. It was a tag on Daily Kos this morning, so I thought it was current.

OK, here’s the post for the “Stupid Democrat” thread. :o

Santilli also wants to shoot both Presidents Bush, so he’s not an example of “stupid Republican ideas” as much as “bat-shit insanity.”

James Inhofe, who voted against federal aid for New Jersey residents who lost their homes to Hurricane Sandy, would like it to be known that his request for federal aid for Oklahoma residents who lost their homes to yesterday’s supertornado is completely different.

Tom Coburn, on the other hand, is remaining idealogically pure - and insisting that the thousands of his constituents who are now homeless not get a penny in federal aid until we defund Obamacare.

In fairness, Coburn is demanding offsetting cuts somewhere in the budget, not necessarily Obamacare.

We are living in interesting times. I still can’t figure out what the gays did that prompted God to wreak his vengeance upon Oklahoma City, but I’m sure a preacher will be along shortly to 'splain it to me.

Good. Then he shouldn’t object to the money coming from Oklahoma’s share of highway funds.

Better yet: defund its Congressional delegation. That ought to save a couple million.

God is weird. He let his Chosen People be abused by various countries and empires for most of the last 3500 years, and now he seems to be pointing a disproportionate amount of divine punishment at the very best Americans. Is it his idea of tough love?

Maybe we should listen to what God is trying to tell us about who needs smiting.

Pat Robertson did.

Yes, yes, I know that story appeared in March, 2012, but are you going to try to tell me that God can’t express His disapproval proactively? He’s GOD, for His sake!

For once, this is not due to teh gheys. It’s to punish Oklahoma for the notorious Tulsa Night Life.

Ah, good. Tom Cotton of Arkansas thinks it would be just fine and dandy to throw the entire family in prison if one member of it is convicted of violating U.S. sanctions on Iran. The good news is that

The bad news is that he thought this was a good idea in the first place.

Some days, there are just *not *enough roll-eyes.

You’d think, just maybe, that one of these morons charged with upholding the Constitution would have actually read it.

So he wiped out a suburb of OKC? Did he contract out the planning to the Bush Administration?

Maybe he gave up on the amendment when someone explained the implications to Ronald Reagan’s family.

They had it read TO them at the start of the last Congress a couple of years ago. Did Boehner not do that again this session? (I did not check to see if this guy was a freshman or not.)

Well they did skip the parts they didn’t like and there was a few pages skipped because they stuck together. It was kinda fun to watch. Some of those guys it was like the first time they’d ever read a line of it.

They probably accidentally read the Declaration of Independence instead. Again.

Seems like they read the Confederate Constitution instead.

Chuck Grassley thinks appointing judges to vacant appeals court seats is ‘packing the court’ - http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/05/23/sorry-chuck-grassley-obama-isnt-packing-the-court/
