Stupid Republican idea of the day

I’ve noticed internet conservatives always have outrageous anecdotes handy to emotionally support radical change in legislation based on extreme statistical outliers that are based on lies.

Your stepson is lying. He is making good money, yes, but not at this job but selling “candid” photos of you in the shower. Sold us liberals here a bunch, $10/ea, that we keep in front of us when we answer your polemics. Offers no end of amusement, which is fairly uncommon for pictures of nekkid Republicans.

By the way, you should have that wart looked at.

That’s not a wart.

This was a well reasoned response; I didn’t stop to do the math. Emmer’s point is truly a SRIOTD!

Any comment Clothahump?

Don’t worry, he has 2 stepsons

You have to read my friend Tina’s column in The Contributor today:

Editor’s Column: Elders v. Burgess

Now that right there is irony.

I guess the stupid idea here is that Republicans apparently use Vaseline for anal sex.

WD 40 smells bad.

Peer-to-peer harassment ? That’s getting berated in the comments over at the Pirate Bay, right ?

I believe this is called a “burn”.

…it’s a talking point!

Maine governor lePage, apparently annoyed by news reporting that he views as hostile, has decided not to comment on his actions, and has pretty much cut off access to government information to the press, forbidding state agencies to release, for example, the governor’s schedule. This is beyond absurd:

The governor’s actions that prompted this are equally outrageous. See the linked report. (Sorry, I couldn’t find a print edition of this that goes into it in any detail)
edited to add: Here’s a link to the Maine Telegram’s report on Maine Environmental Protection head Patricia Aho:

Here’s a piece from ABC about Paul lePage cutting off access to three newspapers:

Under GOP Plan, States Would Be Free To Take Money Away From Poorest Schools

Well, it wouldn’t do to give these children ambitions above their station. Just get them the three R’s and get them to vocational training. Typewriter repair, perhaps.

If they had not have been so lazy, they would have been living in a better area.

Poor people are so stupid.

So fucking what??? It’s what happens when you

  1. Get paid for performance.

  2. Are good at what you do.

It’s very common for commissioned salespeople to make more than their managers or the people that own their companies, even. It’s why good salespeople often stay in “on the ground” sales throughout their entire careers.

And really, does it hurt the business owner’s bottom line if a waiter cleans up in tips? Would it be better to hire shitty waiters just so you can “keep them in their place”? The business owner should be thrilled that his waitstaff is so good, it is probably good for business. In the same vein the commissioned salesgirl that can make 500K a year will be in high demand.

These guys are really about nothing more than keeping the working classes down in order to ensure a surplus of underpaid labor.

And for all you job creators out there:

If you can’t afford to pay your adult full time employees a living wage, then you don’t deserve to be in business and the world would be a better place if your company went under so their market niche could be assumed by someone that was…you know…* good* at business-running.

And when your adult full time employees have to rely on food assistance and Medicare to survive then I, as a taxpayer, am subsidizing your bad business skills and that pisses me off.

Texas abortion bill sponsor doesn’t know what a rape kit is

Pretty darned stupid, especially for someone on the public health committee, but really stupid GOPers seem to get themselves on science and other technical type committees. They should stick to the county music committee and other similar ones.

I rarely (have to) comment on this thread, but that is some real pig-ignorant stoopid. ^
