Stupid Republican idea of the day

I’m still not watching unless somebody gets thrown through a table.

Oh man! They could be having a discussion on the “defense” of marriage and Hannity could make reference to “The Gay Agenda” and then Darren Young (WWE wrestler who recently came out) could storm on to the stage and throw Hannity through the table! Chaos reigns! It would be ratings gold, I tell, GOLD!

I can imagine the discussions in the ABC and CBS executive offices. "CNN and NBC got out of broadcasting the GOP debates by airing Hillary programming. What can we show that will get us off the hook? An Obama biopic? A documentary on how well Obamacare is working? Let’s think of something! Hate to miss this opportunity.
Meanwhile at Comedy Central - “Will we have to pay Fox News for clips because all the crazy debate moments we want to show are over the fair usage limit?”

Perhaps he could throw Hannity onto the table, and demonstrate the Gay Agenda in a direct and unmistakable manner. Of course, I could not approve of such behavior. No. That would be wrong.

I may not support what you lay, but I’ll defend to the death your right to lay it.

That scenario sounds like something one of those “ex-gay” outfits would use as aversion therapy.

Yeah, that would probably keep Darren from having gay sex for a long time. The trauma would be tremendous!

Local stupid idea of today:

In Tempe, Arizona there was a small group (roughly 10 or so) Republicans close to the lake demanding the impeachment of Obama.

Even a few conservative congresspersons said that even if the votes are there to impeach it should not be done because Republicans will do a very stupid thing.

So, besides being a stupid idea, then one could throw them a bone if they explained what should be the reason, what was it in their big banner?

Would it be for the NSA? (No, it was not in the banner, but this item should be a pox on all the politicians)

Would it be for Obamacare? (Understandable if you are a tea partier, idiotic reason elsewhere)

Nah, it was because of Benghazi…

Yeah, that Benghazi.

You, know, I take into consideration what even Republicans are thinking that impeachment would be a stupid thing to do with that evidence, but those fair minded Republicans are in denial of the stupid miasma that is covering their peers right now, so I would welcome them to try and fall in their faces as they deserve.

Obamacare madness.

FreedomWorks urging Young Libertarians in Love to burn, burn, burn fictitious Obamacare cards.

Republican governors refusing to accept the Medicaid expansion or set up exchanges in order to gum up implementation, but it’s “wrong” to say Republicans are not trying to help?

Grover Norquist disingenously claiming Republicans aren’t doing anything to hinder implementation of the ACA and that “the idea that Republicans have not been trying to help is wrong.”

Of course, “approve” and “enjoy” are not the same thing.

**Maine Governor Paul LePage told a crowd gathered at a GOP fundraiser last week that President Obama “hates white people,” according to two state lawmakers who where there. **

Did you really think that would remain in the joke-realm?

Keep reading, it gets weirder.

This came out last month but it appears not to have been mentioned.

Valerie Hodges, a Republican member of the Louisiana legislature voted in favor of a law that gives government money to religious schools. She thought this was a great idea and publicly supported the law: “I actually support funding for teaching the fundamentals of America’s Founding Fathers’ religion, which is Christianity, in public schools, or private schools… I liked the idea of giving parents the option of sending their children to a public school or a Christian school.”

As you can tell Hodges’ own education appears a little spotty. Among other things, she apparently never learned that there is more than one religion in the world.

She discovered this however, when the law was enacted and one of the religious schools now eligible for government money is the Islamic School of Greater New Orleans, which as you might guess is not a Christian institution. Hodges was apparently shocked to discover than Islam is a religion just like Christianity and she now denounces the law she voted for: “We need to ensure that (the new law) does not open the door to fund radical Islam schools. There are a thousand Muslim schools that have sprung up recently.” (There are actually three. Math is apparently another subject Hodges struggles with.) “I do not support using public funds for teaching Islam anywhere here in Louisiana.”

Actually, Valarie, you do support it. You helped make it happen. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon you.

I think you’re going after the wrong issue there - she clearly wants the state to subsidize Christian schools (inferrably evangelical ones at that), but no other denomination, especially the one of brown funny-talking terr’ists.

I would instead blast her for not understanding what faiths the “Founding Fathers” held, and that they put SOCAS into the Constitution for good reasons, and that she doesn’t know what those are, and that in so doing she’s flouting the document that the people she reveres created.

That happened last year, not last month.

Ted Cruz hopes to shake off his “birther” issues be renouncing his Canadian citizenship. Well, apparently it’s more complicated than going to a Canada Post all-services window and announcing “Canada sucks. I quit.”:

Hm. If the spy agency has to clear him, then he probably has to swear that in his time in the U.S. – including his time in the Senate – he has learned no information of interest to Canadian intelligence.

How will he answer that, I wonder?

One test of American citizenship for Senator Cruz should be whether or not he puts gravy on his Freedom Fries.

I wonder how the Canadian spy agency will do the investigation. I’m having this mental image of the janitor/spy from that one Kim Possible episode sifting through his wastebaskets. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d like to see some baby pictures, like his whole head before he grew any hair. Check for tattoos. Birthmarks. Numbers, symbols, anything like that.
