Stupid Republican idea of the day

Libraries lead to knowledge which is like kryptonite to tea-partiers.

This is Kentucky. I hear few go to the library because the book is checked out.

No True American™ has any need for any information in any book that isn’t the Bible or the Constitution!

CMC fnord!

And they haven’t read either one.

I’ve got it! All we have to do is rename “Welfare” to “Wealth Subsidies” and poof! No more poverty because we’re already wealthy, right?

Have we talked yet about the GOP retreating further into the bubble it currently inhabits?

The other idea floated was to have Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin to pose as mediators, instead of journalists.

This is going to be a fun election!

and Yogsosoth, that appears to be the new talking point for Republicans. Rick Santorum has also come out against the phrase Middle Class.

If there’s a thing such as a “middle class” in the national discourse, then people will expect things like “a middle class lifestyle” which the right wing has been working to destroy with Reaganomics for 30 years. Since they do absolutely everything they can to destroy the opportunities for a middle class lifestyle, it’s actually pretty ingenious to try to relabel things so that we are content with less while being robbed blind.

So in other words, I don’t think this is a stupid Republican idea at all.

It’s infotainment and everyone involved–on both the RNC and the network side–are gleefully playing this up to draw attention to themselves. Marketing 101.

The bubble is getting too small to include the leftists at Fox News:

Oh god, please please please PLEASE let that happen! The Republican primaries would be better than pay per view!

I heard that on the radio. What a lunatic, but its par for the course unfortunately.

The GOP is going to make the Democrats talk to empty chairs for a change.
Republicans may boycott CNN, NBC presidential debates.

Well, they won’t get much attention for their primary debate, if nobody but Fox covers it.

Megyn Kelly is homosexual? She’s had two husbands and three kids.

Why don’t we all agree to stop reading that sentence at that point.

No, if you read the article, that group thinks Megyn is apparently in support of gays or at least the homosexual agenda, or at least tolerant of them guys. And you know that’s totally wrong for a conservative to be.

Your link says she played field hockey in high school.

Where there’s smoke…

Oh. I thought “pro homosexual” meant she gets paid.

Well, apparently this is the complaining organization:

So, there’s that.

Lamar Alexander’s shady past finally catches up with him:

“Our great nation can no longer afford compromise and bipartisanship, two traits for which you have become famous.”
— open letter to Alexander from a coalition of Tea Party groups who are out to defeat him next year.

I told them that democracy was passé, that fascism was the future, but they said, no, we’re over that Mussolini nonsense! Now you see? Now you see!?

Seriously, guys, when the TEA Party get a working majority in 2/3 of state legislatures and both chambers of Congress in a couple of years, you’ll still be claiming their extremism will be their undoing.

Which, you know, it probably will. It’s just that when your fanatical rulers discredit themselves, it’s usually by leading the country into military defeat.
