Stupid Republican idea of the day

Ostensibly he is qualified because he has experience (1995 and 1996) in shutting down the government over medicare/health. The reality is that much of the media is just a pandering freak show.

But what gravita does Newt Gangrene have that Kim Kardashian does not?

Bigger boobs?

I’ve read that the Chamber of Commerce had this as a key “Yes” vote and Heritage Action as a key “No” vote. What’s an honest, order-following, line-toeing Republican to do?

More mass?

Christ, I don’t know what to say. At this point, my contempt for FOX is beyond the pale. I really feel like everyone who voted for any member of the current TEA Party caucus could die in a freak “Being retarded or evil” accident. And every single FOX contributor die horribly in a freak “Being incredibly evil” accident. -.- They’re lying in obscenely copious ways, and their lies just lead to more fucking retards like Magellan01 or Terr who misunderstand the issue, who support the republicans in taking the country hostage, and who don’t understand ANYTHING, in turn hurting America and the rest of the world. Seriously. All of these people need to go fucking die in a fire. I’m just done. My patience is done with their bullshit.

I particularly like this part:

Huh. So when white people vote, they are expressing their political beliefs and considered views on the issues, but when Latinos and Asians vote, we’re just likability indicators? It may surprise you to hear this, Mr. Morici, but Latinos and Asians are also subject to the Affordable Care Act and we rather like it. We’re not so fond of casual racism (or perhaps mere casual idiocy) of the sort you seem to be expressing here.

I’m so pissed off I actually signed up for a Fox News account to comment on the article.

It was a totally racist thing to say. The author has a Twitter account too.

But polls also show that at least half those who don’t like the ACA don’t like it because it does not go far enough and they want a public option or Canuckistani-style singler-payer or something.

Ted Cruz “video bombs” Mitch McConnell’s speech on the budget deal.

What’s more:

Incredible. Just incredible.

I don’t, though. It won’t surprise you to hear that my comment was deleted.

Winning!

This completely pointless shutdown has cost the economy $24 billion. Since 2009, fiscal policy uncertainty and discretionary spending reductions have hindered annual GDP growth and increased unemployment. But hey, I’m sure Ted Cruz and Heritage Action got great new leads on their mailing lists!

Since we seem so intent on emulating the late Roman republic, perhaps a populist demagogue could organize a mob to throw rotten garbage at Ted Cruz every time he appears in public.

Part of the Japanese Midway operation in WWII was a diversionary attack on the Aleutians (partly to seize Kiska and Attu, but primarily to draw the US Pacific Fleet north so it wouldn’t be in a position to oppose the Midway invasion). After the IJN had its ass handed to it, one commentator noted that the “stunning success” in the Aleutians was made possible by the “diversionary attack” on Midway.

I see that commentator’s spirit lives on. With one exception: I can’t see where Cruz seized any ground vis-à-vis Obamacare.

This is fantastic, and I’m stealing it. Muhahaha.

And we’ve had a number of comparisons in this very thread of the GOP leaders to ‘Bhagdad Bob’.

‘Calgary Cruz’: The Teabaggers’ version of ‘Baghdad Bob’

Cowtown Ted or Cowtown Cruz would work better.

Except that we should point out that Cruz is ‘not really American’. :stuck_out_tongue:

(Note: I made a passing remark about Cruz having been born in Canada to my oldest ‘friend’. He still believes Obama was born in Kenya. )

Cowtown is also a nickname for Calgary. It would associate him both with Alberta and Tejas.

Aha!

IANA Canadian. Heck the Canadian border is four miles away!
