Rush Limbaugh is the perfect spokesmen for the Grand Old Lunatics. Sometimes he’s treated as their leading intellectual. :eek: But when he goes too far, he’s “just a comedian” like Soupy Sales or Harpo Marx.
Although mostly a hermit, I’ve come in contact with Americans who watch Limbaugh. I give them a quizzical look; without exception they respond “I just watch him because I think he’s funny.” :dubious:
In their younger days they probably said they “just read Playboy for the jazz reviews.” Kinda sad, really, if you think about it: from Playmate of the Month to Gasbag of the Era.
