GOProud co-founder Jimmy LaSalvia announced last week that he would renounce his affiliation with the Republican Party and become an independent nearly five years after he founded the group aimed at gay conservatives.

I think perhaps Mr. Perkins is confusing educational institutions with those ahem “educational” “institutions” with which he is more personally familiar, where of course the “dorms” are always (or, usually) “coed” for the duration of “instruction,” generally a half hour’s up to one hour’s residency.
