Stupid Republican idea of the day

And wouldn’t someone like Ham react to the idea of aliens going to hell with the rather firm decision to convert them, teach them about Jesus Christ, not just abandon them to them being damned for eternity through ignorance?

(Then again, Dante had a “good” circle of Hell for those who just didn’t and couldn’t know about Christianity, didn’t he?)

It’s fucking Newt again - anything to sow hatred and sell a book. More red meat for the “core constituency”.

Newt Gingrich has blasted the Bushes for being too nice and getting chummy with the Clintons, blaming the family’s friendliness for Hillary Clinton’s likely presidency. me-at least it’s far better than a Newt presidency.

“The most single damaging thing the Bush family has done to politics was to resuscitate Bill and Hillary Clinton and give them a bipartisan veneer,” Gingrich says, in the chapter “Seducing the Bushes.”

*"Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) said that he wants a special congressional investigation of Google because of recent a issue with the company’s search algorithm that’s affecting a single movie.

“That just so happens to be ‘America: Imagine a World Without Her,’ (which is a very bad movie) by conservative pundit, filmmaker, and campaign finance violator Dinesh D’Souza. D’Souza and his Team America have been on Google’s case about the problem, with Google calmly explaining that ‘America’ is ‘a common term and appears in many movie titles,’ and that its database hadn’t been fully updated yet to display the movie’s local showtimes.”*

Way to waste my tax dollars, ya filthy putz.

I demand a congressional investigation into badly-formatted links!
Here you go, Shayna.

Sowwy. :frowning:

I was trying to make a pun about Rohrabacher giving up a security deposit for liberty (i.e. he deserves neither) but it’s not gelling.

America! Fuck, yeah!

D’Souza is supported by a bunch of marionettes?

I wasn’t following the context of the conversation and thought this said Maronites and was really confused.

The guy’s funny but I didn’t know his followers actually had names.

Because in Ham’s interpretation of Scripture that would be pointless; only the children of Adam can be saved.

Well, in Ham’s opinion, neither are most of the rest of us so I may as well increase my chances of getting a Wookiee sidekick in my lifetime.

Heh. Yeah. Like he’d be the sidekick. :dubious:

 :stuck_out_tongue:

Not a Stupid Republican Idea. Just a Stupid Republican (who probably has Stupid Republican Ideas):

Pol mistakes U.S. staff for Indians

This spoiled my day, so fuck it, I’ll spoil yours. Baby Jesus puked His little guts out…

Just shut the fuck up, OK. Seriously. Shut. The. Fuck. Up!

Wait. He’s from Florida. I need to see the names of his staff from a few days ago so that if any apply for a job, I make sure not to hire them. I would imagine that there’s at least one on the market right now…

Fuck that woman with an entire pile of fucks. Fucking coward, hiding behind a microphone. I’d actually have a little more respect for her if I thought she would ever in a million years dare to say that shit to my face.

I do not condone violence… But, gawdam, if it happens, please sell tickets!

Hm. I was trying to imagine what she’d say if someone approached her and said, calmly, “Representative Bachmann, I am gay, and I’d like you to explain [this remark].” I guess it’d depend on whether there were any cameras around? It may be just me, but I could actually imagine her actually at least coming close to saying it to your face if she didn’t think she was being recorded. Which, of course, may strengthen your point, but that’s just my imagination running wild.

I dunno. I don’t think Bachmann is actually mean-spirited. I think she is just profoundly clueless and, of course, batshit insane.

Most of these folks are just playing to their target audience, whether they believe this stuff themselves or not.
