A single Senator can put a hold on a nomination so that it never even gets debated or brought to a vote, it doesn’t require a filibuster.
Let’s hope he goes ahead with that. It will be a sure way to get rid of the practice.
Is he of the same opinion still? That was 24 years ago. (Although I haven’t noticed a large number of Republicans holding that opinion who’d change it, ever.)
Rather too much of a liberum veto, that.
BYU. 9 children. I will go out on a limb and guess: yeah.
Me too.
Palin has her own “TV” channel. So far, you get her talking, Bristol’s blog (really?), and “Sally’s Word of the Day”. If the screenshot of the homepage is any indication, *that *little gem will be loaded with religious or political terms.
I’m sure it will succeed with a wildness not seen since her blockbuster tour-de-force The Undefeated took America by storm.
Yeah, but she had Rock Hudson and John Wayne as costars in that one.
So *she’s *the reason Rock Hudson became gay!
Mike Kelly has likened the EPA’s rule on power plant emissions to terrorism. And coal is Obama’s kryptonite. How many things have been named that over the last 6 years?
When the only tool you have for getting rid of Obama is a brain that thinks on a comic-book level, everything looks like kryptonite.
Isn’t Kryptonite what the super villains use against the good guy? So Kelly is Lex Luthor and Obama is… ?
This year’s Texas GOP platform is even stupider than you would expect.
No, it’s pretty much exactly as stupid as i expected.
After all the talk about impeaching the president for eating crackers like he owns the place has started to backfire, Republicans are now blaming Democrats for “ginning up” the impeachment talks.
It’s like they don’t know about recording devices, or the internet.
“We’re not there yet! Keep digging!”
However, they do know that the American public has an attention span measured in minutes.
And they have no problems with lying through their teeth.
So, sadly, their strategy might work after all.
Oh, who am I kidding? It’s probably already working.
Well, at least we’ll get a nice Daily Show montage with 15 different Republicans saying, “Impeach him!” or “Impeachment is an option,” and Boehner at the end saying, “Democrats made up this impeachment talk.”
