That said, different countries have different standards for the pronunciation of foreign names so van Goh maybe entirely acceptable in the US.
Well, in Dutchlandic it’s very close to the Scots “loch.” A bit softer, but about the same sound. I’m on my mobile and c&p is a pain, but the Beeb has a page somewhere with their preferred Anglicisation: hard v, hard g, ch like loch.
