If they’re having sex with very drunk people who aren’t already intimate partners, then they’re wrong too. “Lots of people are doing it” is not a defense. For most of human history, huge numbers of people – perhaps even the majority – took part in very bad stuff.
It is not an excuse by itself, and I agreed that it’s immoral behavior. However, it’s not rape. If consent is given, even if it’s based on impaired judgment, then it is consensual sex, period.
