Stupid Republican idea of the day

The fact that Congress decides the jurisdiction of the courts is pretty well established. The courts already allow challenges in 1st amendment cases without standing. And they have also been willing to get involved in legislative-executive disputes when they believe it appropriate to do so. Congress giving them explicit legal authority to decide constitutional questions without standing being necessary would be helpful.

So, adaher never seems to ever wonder if the Republicans are deceiving, ripping, flimflamming, hustling, double-crossing, hosing, sucker punching or pulling his leg when after all that talk and leaving the imprison that they filed the lawsuit in reality they have not done so?

The super-cynical in me expects that Bohener will eventually file, but when for all intents and practical purposes the case will never reach the Supreme court for a verdict as it will be a moot point since Obama will not be president by then.

What “certain number” did you have in mind, and can Obama veto their decision?

I move a vote of thanks to adaher for showing up to deliver a SRIOTD to the thread in person. Most of his cohort require us to go out and scour the interwebs to collect their, um, offerings.

Call it 50. It can be 20 or 200, doesn’t really matter. No, Obama could not veto a Supreme Court decision.

However, we do need to establish what the boundaries are as far as a President choosing not to enforce laws. Obama has really pushed the envelope in that regard and you can guarantee the next GOP President will take that to the next level. Perhaps lower taxes without the need for Congressional approval by simply not enforcing any tax rate over 25%.

You misunderstand me. I’m talking about the decision from Congress to even bring in the Supreme Court. You said Congress should vote to make it happen. I think there’s a name for when they do that kind of thing.

In fact, I think the whole process might even be written down somewhere.

Yeah, well, adaher has been trying to derail this thread with his vacuous cruft for a while now. He may be amusing at first, but he gets boring pretty quickly. He is more just inane than breathtakingly stupid. The interwebs have given us some real jaw-droppers, the like of which adaher cannot compare with. He is like a garden-variety turd floating happily along in a shitstorm roil of bilious orange sewage.

This thread would be red sewage, surely. And there’s another one for the blue sewage.

But don’t fall into both……or you could be marooned.

Sorry.

I made some of that once, turns out I ate too much Escolar.

But did it come out your mouth, like a Republican, or the normal end?

The normal , although at the time I was ranting about the apparent unfairness of the worlds, as appeared to me from my narrow viewpoint of the dunny, and why it was everyone else’s fault even though the liquid flame jet emanating from my arse was largely due to my own poor choices. I probably could have come up with a few SRIOTD at the time, being in a ludicrous frame of mind. Fortunately it passed and I was suitably ashamed of myself.

You want that last cigarette, or shall we just get on with it?

I’m sure you are.

Imagine my surprise to see the name

Rep. Steve Stockman

I was betting it would be Gohmert.
