In any case, you’re wrong again. it wasn’t tighter regulation of markets worldwide that led to such a huge increase in human welfare. It was freer markets. Every single conservative understands that markets have to be regulated. We just believe the burden of proof is on the regulators to demonstrate that the regulations are necessary and effective. Same goes for social programs. Simple and magical thinking is what leads to massive new programs that waste money and don’t work. Plus a lack of curiosity as to whether the programs are performing their mission. Not very compassionate of you folks to enact programs and then not care if they work or not.
